So that you can by heaps of them, perhaps? (...) (21 years ago, 23-Apr-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: US S@H Specials, Apr 23 - 29, 2003

(...) Thoughtful of them if true but I doubt it. All service packs go through cycles but I did not expect this one to cycle yet. (...) (21 years ago, 23-Apr-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: US S@H Specials, Apr 23 - 29, 2003

I bet it has to do with the number of doors and windows packed in each set. 3734 has 5 left doors and 5 right doors. This is enough doors for 2 Metroliner style cars. However you need 10 windows for each car. So to create your two cars, 2 packs of (...) (21 years ago, 23-Apr-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: US S@H Specials, Apr 23 - 29, 2003

Because they have a VERY large # of them. Bryan K's post is probably spot on. TLG never has seemed to have a clue about windows/doors - when have you EVER seen a door/window pack that had a proper ratio of doors to windows? I guess in LegoWorld, (...)   Re: US S@H Specials, Apr 23 - 29, 2003

(...) NOOO...OOO! What about people who want the windows and have no intention of making a train, therefore no need for (or even want) the doors. (...) -Mike Petrucelli (21 years ago, 23-Apr-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: US S@H Specials, Apr 23 - 29, 2003

(...) That's what BrickLink is for. If LEGO got the general proportion (average, across everyone) right, BL can smooth out lumps of freaky desire. (21 years ago, 23-Apr-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: US S@H Specials, Apr 23 - 29, 2003

(...) of (...) OK, but if TLC is already doing right as far as the windows go, why screw with it? Why not just produce less of the door pack? -Mike Petrucelli (21 years ago, 23-Apr-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: US S@H Specials, Apr 23 - 29, 2003

(...) Larry - for some reason this phrase struck me as particularly funny. I would describe "Freaky desire" as the sensation that occurs as you go on a late night BrickLink hoarding spree, buying out the only 30 copies of some obscure part from 9 (...)   Re: US S@H Specials, Apr 23 - 29, 2003

(...) There's an SKU shortage. Combine the doors and windows (in the right proportion) and an SKU is freed up for something else. That's goodness, in my view, as one does where formerly 2 were used. However I blow hot and cold on this, there are (...) (21 years ago, 23-Apr-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: US S@H Specials, Apr 23 - 29, 2003

(...) Oh ya, been there, done that. :-) What's always good is the notes you get from befuddled sellers, wondering what you are up to and some hoping to dump other dross on you. I'm wondering when it's going to happen to me for THIS part: (URL) part (...) (21 years ago, 23-Apr-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

I suspect that with the new trains coming on the market soon and the 4561 being phased out, I imagine the demand for these is waning. Mike -- Mike (...)   Re: US S@H Specials, Apr 23 - 29, 2003

(...) Well, I just placed an order all the way from Africa for a mess of the door packs. Oodles! I'll find a use for them, maybe a nice *blue* cruiser... But I got the most annoying customer service person I've ever encountered--she sounded like the (...) (21 years ago, 23-Apr-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: US S@H Specials, Apr 23 - 29, 2003

I feel bad even putting (dumping) that part into my daughter's bins... But then again, she might find some use for it that adults could never imagine. That is what Lego is all about. Perhaps BrickFest should have a contest - Given a pile of not so (...) (21 years ago, 23-Apr-03, to lugnet.events.brickfest, lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: US S@H Specials, Apr 23 - 29, 2003

(...) I dunno, someone posted a rendering in .trains a few days or so back that used that part as the exit chute on a hopper car (it used 3). Looked pretty good to me, so I might have to use a dozen or so up that way. -- Tom Stangl ***(URL) Visual (...) (21 years ago, 24-Apr-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: US S@H Specials, Apr 23 - 29, 2003

(...) Ya I was thinking about that very car after I posted. I may have to give it a go. (...) A dozen? Well that might be a good start for YOU but it would be merely rounding error for me, regrettably. (21 years ago, 24-Apr-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: US S@H Specials, Apr 23 - 29, 2003

<<snipp>> (...) Here at work (office) a lot of internal doors have windows, I think so you don't smack them up in people's faces. Kind of boring if you ask me :) Best regards, /Tobbe (URL) SPAM when e-mailing) (21 years ago, 24-Apr-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Re: US S@H Specials, Apr 23 - 29, 2003

(...) You may not know this, Lar, since you did not go to the Lego Outlet during BrickFest 2002, but... One of the special blow-out items during BrickFest 2002 was the bulk pack of Light Gray Train windows with Glass. There were at least 2 full K-8 (...)   Re: US S@H Specials, Apr 23 - 29, 2003

(...) Really? I might be interested in a few of those. They're good for Space stuff -- I seem to remember Tim C. used them on the underside of a large-ish spacecraft he built. Put a few of them in a line, run bricks through the slots, it makes a (...) (21 years ago, 1-May-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)
