  VODB Trailer

Spotted Cow Studios is pleased to release a trailer for their latest project (pending copyright approval)... The Valley Of Dry Bones (URL) trailer includes some still shots of the scenes as well as some concept animation lovingly crafted by PoV-Ray. (...) (21 years ago, 11-Dec-03, to lugnet.animation)

  Re: Which camera?

(...) I don't have the Pro4K though I've heard great things about it. However, I would recommend that you spend a little more and go out and buy yourself a digital camera, somewhere in the 2+MP range. The reasons being that you will get excellent (...)   Which camera?

Up to this point I have been using a sony miniDV camcorder with firewire. But I want to switch to something USB. I have heard the QuickCam ro 400 is pretty good, anyone have experience with it? Or any other recommendations? Thanks, Rand (21 years ago, 5-Dec-03, to lugnet.animation)

  Delivery chute

It's been a while since I contributed to my favorite group, so I thought I would post this... This afternoon while I was, uh...working hard, I happened to see one of my Technic figure seats laying around and it occurred to me that the backrest was (...)   Re: Lewa in Exo Toa Zaps Makuta

(...) Thanks for the kind words! It was all luck. I started with a pic that had fortuitous lighting: (URL) initial thought was just to add a lens flare using PhotoImpact (www.ulead.com). After a lot of fiddling around I added lightning: (URL) then I (...) (21 years ago, 27-Nov-03, to lugnet.animation)

Re: Lewa in Exo Toa Zaps Makuta

(...) And of course how you created the zap effect. I can quite easily create the fireball (I did a smaller version in my film Glowing Orbs) but the lightning stumps me. You didn't draw each part by hand, did you?! ~Mike (21 years ago, 27-Nov-03, to lugnet.animation, lugnet.technic.bionicle)

Re: Lewa in Exo Toa Zaps Makuta

(...) really cool - to me - how the slowness of the effects actually makes the segment seem longer than it is. Most folks who would show off a clip that short would have something that just went ZIP! and you wouldn't really now what you'd seen. The (...)   Re: studios

(...) Jeff - I don't have any specific advice to give about your problems but you might be able to get some help from the company that put together the LEGO Studios software - Pinnacle Systems. Their website is www.pinnaclesys.com. Maybe you can (...) (21 years ago, 24-Nov-03, to lugnet.animation)

i have windows me & had lego studios loaded & working successfully before. i tried loading th spiderman sounds, but the computer said it couldn't read a kernel file or something to that effect. ditto on the monster studios sounds. i then tried (...) (21 years ago, 22-Nov-03, to lugnet.animation)

  Re: BrickFilming goes...to Honda?!

(...) At least when living in a cave you don't have to see commercials with things being made out of MegaBloks. ;) AB (21 years ago, 10-Nov-03, to lugnet.animation, lugnet.build)

  Re: BrickFilming goes...to Honda?!

  BrickFilming goes...to Honda?!

Has everybody here seen this one already, or is it just me that doesn't watch TV? (I don't, really) (URL) only fitting that I saw it on Eric Harshbarger's site first. ~Mike (21 years ago, 10-Nov-03, to lugnet.animation, lugnet.build)

  Re: Sound Synching

(...) Rand, I think most of us record audio first, then shoot the video. It's much easier to coordinate movements when you know exactly how many frames you have to work with - and just adding duplicate frames here and there later will make it look (...)   Sound Synching

Hello, I am new to stop motion animation ( using legos of course ). How do you know how many frames to shoot for audio? I have software that lets me overlay an audio track with the video. Do I record the audio first, then just calulate the frames (...) (21 years ago, 8-Nov-03, to lugnet.animation)

  Re: Web Host Concept

The problem with this model is that the "organization" has a certain limited amount of space, let's say 100 GB for example. Now, let's say two people join. Do you give them each 50 GB? Then no one else can sign on. Or do you give them 10 GB to use, (...) (21 years ago, 5-Nov-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.publish, lugnet.animation)

  Re: Web Host Concept

(...) Why equally split? Suppose I have a high traffic site that hosts movies and therefore consumes lots of bandwidth. Why should I get to pay the same as some guy who hosts a few highly compressed gifs and doesn't get a lot of traffic. Very unfair (...)   Re: Web Host Concept

(...) This is pretty similar to the idea of MOCPages, except that MOCPages is free? In general, it's a good idea, and I like it :) Some technical problems I can see, but probably nothing that can't be figured out. (21 years ago, 31-Oct-03, to lugnet.general, lugnet.publish, lugnet.animation)
