  Re: Response highlighting

(...) And that's another anticrossposting argument I have.... it circumvents weightings. For the record Ben has apologised for his inappropriate excessive crossposting. (...) I think that's a valid concern. But I DO think people spotlight good mocs (...) (21 years ago, 20-Jan-05, to lugnet.admin.suggestions, FTX)

2004 posting statistics (was Re: Posting statistics)

(...) I don't remember if I did this for last year, but here's this year's. If there's interest, I can post last year's as well. Same limitations as before, deal with it :) Notice that Larry is still the loudest mouth, excep that he posted from 4 (...)   Re: Response highlighting

(...) Currently, there are (URL) variable spotlight weights> provided so that some newsgroups are prefered over other newsgroups. The hoped for effect is that MOCs will be on the mainpage more than fruitless discussion. You'll notice that several (...) (21 years ago, 20-Jan-05, to lugnet.admin.suggestions, FTX)

  Re: Response highlighting

(...) Just more coding suggestions: I think that in the "someday" category when/if personal skip-filters are employed to the spotlight, perhaps there could be an opt-in setting that prevents replies from making it to the spotlight list. In response (...) (21 years ago, 20-Jan-05, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Response highlighting

I don't have time to do an exhaustive search of this newsgroup to see if this issue has been resolved, but I know it has come up. Please let me know if this is old news that doesn't need to come up anymore. But, can we do something about these (...) (21 years ago, 20-Jan-05, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Posting statistics

Any chance of last years posting statistics (or the year before (unless I missed it))? Is Lar still king? Tim (21 years ago, 17-Jan-05, to lugnet.people, lugnet.admin.suggestions)

Re: Please link to Clark's color pages

(...) I can't believe the color sidebar was empty! bad. ...I must've been using the one at .market (?) Any volunteers for curator? I can throw the switch. Meanwhile, I simply ripped off your list, Kevin. Heh, heh. -Suz (21 years ago, 7-Dec-04, to lugnet.admin.suggestions, lugnet.admin.curators)

Re: Question to those who know how to change locations

(...) I've been wondering about that for a couple of years now. Maybe if our profile info about our state was seperate from our address info, it would be more easily changed. (21 years ago, 2-Dec-04, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

Re: Please link to Clark's color pages

(...) There is a collection of COLOR resources listed on the .market.brickshops page: (URL) list was started long before the .Colors newsgroup was created. Now, it is definitely more appropriate under the new group sidebar. It is a pretty good (...) (21 years ago, 30-Nov-04, to lugnet.admin.suggestions, lugnet.admin.curators)

Re: Please link to Clark's color pages

(...) (URL) )It would be *great* if it had one. Do you know of anyone that might be willing to volunteer? Perhaps you could encourage them to drop the curator admins (Frank, Lenny, myself) a line? Once it did, the request to add a link to the front (...) (21 years ago, 29-Nov-04, to lugnet.color, lugnet.admin.suggestions, lugnet.admin.curators)

Please link to Clark's color pages

Please add a link on the Colors group sidebar to the Isodomos Color Tree Pages: (URL) even provide a direct pointer to the cross-reference Color Tree Roots page: (URL) lot of people seem to be unaware of this extremely useful resource.   Re: Post preview screen behaving strangely? blah blah blah blah

(...) No idea. I just remember having experienced that before (when I posted via http, which is rarely). I am using FireFox 0.8, and still seeing that behavior. (21 years ago, 13-Nov-04, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

Re: Post preview screen behaving strangely? blah blah blah blah

(...) Indeed ! When I added those junk blah's to the topic, all of a sudden its wider. Apparently lugnet is line wrapping the text at a certain place, but the preview box's width is being controlled by the subject width. Since you know the secret... (...)   Re: Post preview screen behaving strangely?

Re: Post preview screen behaving strangely?

(...) Ross, I'm seeing the same thing with Mozilla 1.7.3 on Mac OS-X. I used to see this intermittently on Moz 1.4, but now it seems to happen all the time (at least I think its all the time, certainly on replies). Ok, Now previewing the reply I (...)   Post preview screen behaving strangely?

Since I switched to Firefox 1.0 the other day I've noticed that when I preview a post, the preview text box is a lot narrower than the entry box, casuing the preview to be wrapped before the end of each line. And it only seems to happen when I'm (...) (21 years ago, 12-Nov-04, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Escape char in FTX links

Using the escape character (`) inside link angle brackets seems to disable the link, except if the character escaped is a formatting charater eg: </~469/ test<it> compared with: </~469/ test{it> Note that the escape itself actually works, it just (...)   Re: Parts Ref upgrade?

(...) You could do something similar with Peeron's search: (URL) think Steve gave up on updating Partsref since the update process was very manual work and extreamly difficult for him. That, and LDraw starting to host their own part images - it was (...) (22 years ago, 28-Oct-04, to lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Re: Parts Ref upgrade?

(...) There's a couple of nice features of Partsref that I've used: It can be included easily in FTX, eg: [LDrawPart 3001:7] I have used that feature quite a bit, but have often come up against the limited number of parts in the Partsref.   Quotes in FTX

I just noticed that FTX seems to convert "double quotes" to chr 147 & 148, and it seems to depend on whether there is white space on one side or the other. However it doesn't seem treat the hard carriage return ( ) as white space. Maybe it should? (...) (22 years ago, 24-Oct-04, to lugnet.admin.suggestions, FTX)
