This sort of fix isn't something I'm interested in doing. I like having one
client which makes it trivial to jump between groups on different servers.
It was essential when I worked on NNTP servers and is still a very desirable
feature for me.

This is the limiting thing for most clients. I can't forward port 119
because I have a local news server running there.
