Re: How do we ask for a new newsgroup to be set up?

(...) That's all very easy when you are using a web browser but what about those using NNTP? Many people in the UK will be using NNTP because you can download and read offline because of pay by the minute access. (...) Well it's not just a UK (...)   Link to Fairplay Rules

Todd, Would it not be appropriate to have a link to LEGO's Fairplay rules (URL) on the (URL) page? Jude (25 years ago, 1-Nov-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Fishlips Minifig?

[Crossposted to lugnet.admin.general. Please followup appropriately] (...) I see you already got your answer, but I thought I'd mention you can find minifig/set crossreferences at Brickset (URL), the Fibblesnork LEGO Guide (URL), and Locker 99's (...)   Set numbers in Guide for RoboRiders

I purchased the Onyx RoboRider for the black can (the RoboRiders cans are the perfect size for carrying Solar Shields sunglasses in a pack without getting them crushed) and was trying to add it to the My Sets feature when I discovered that the (...)   Growth

I get the general impression that the number of registered users / members is growing day-by-day. However, I get no real feeling that there are more (in terms of numbers) people posting here or that the total numbers of posts is dramatically rising. (...)   Re: How do we ask for a new newsgroup to be set up?

Wouldn't the simplest thing to have be "lugnet.market.loc..."? (with .uk under that) There isn't one already, and I haven't read any arguments that would indicate that that would go against any design criteria. Or am I missing something? Phil. PS: (...)   Re: How do we ask for a new newsgroup to be set up?

(...) It seems to me that if you want to put it in buy-sell-trade start the post with "UK only" (or the title) and then you can see it in the brief lists or do a search in BST for UK and it would come up. I do understand Todd's point. He wants to (...) (25 years ago, 1-Nov-00, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.loc.uk)

Re: Correct attribution? (was Re: Parts tracker needs more visibility

(...) Yes. For starters, consider this. LDraw.org the organization belongs in with other organizations. LDraw the program ought to be parallel to MLCad and LEOCad and the other groups devoted to programs. ldraw/parts seems somehow wrong. Parts at (...)   Re: Where can I get a Technic Space Shuttle

(...) Good point, that's my approach too. If I get an inquiry, I ask if they saw it on BrickBay and if they say "huh", then I consider it, else I point them there. ++Lar (25 years ago, 1-Nov-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: New Themes

Todd, can you create a technic.slizer group to cover the themes of Throwbots, Roboriders and Bionicle? It seems that with Bionicle these sorts of figures are here to stay, and they are different enough from everything else to warrent their own (...) (25 years ago, 1-Nov-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: New Themes

(...) Not anytime soon, no. (...) It depends where they fit in the product line. I don't know yet whether Alpha Team is part of Town or is a whole new line. Life on Mars appears to be its own whole line, but the distribution of set numbers (URL) (...) (25 years ago, 31-Oct-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Frank's Giant (or not so giant...) Castle Index (was Re: pics of my castle's new church...)

I've thought about breaking it up, it would actually make it a bit easier to edit in some ways also. (...) (25 years ago, 31-Oct-00, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Correct attribution? (was Re: Parts tracker needs more visibility

  New Themes

Todd, As the creation of new themes continues to accelerate, are you planning on changing the layout of the news home page? I notice that there are some "dead" themes that do not receive much activity. But if you nest the links to them you would (...) (25 years ago, 31-Oct-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Frank's Giant (or not so giant...) Castle Index (was Re: pics of my castle's new church...)

The only suggestion I would have is that it could be broken down into multiple pages. It's a loooong list to (...) (25 years ago, 31-Oct-00, to lugnet.castle, lugnet.admin.general)
