Not anytime soon, no.

It depends where they fit in the product line. I don't know yet whether
Alpha Team is part of Town or is a whole new line.
Life on Mars appears to be its own whole line, but the distribution of set
numbers
http://guide.lugnet.com/set/?q=7310-7319
suggests that it might be very short-lived, in which case it would be a shame
to create a whole new top-level category for it if it happens to fit into
.space pretty well.

I totally agree. Since the new Mickey Mouse stuff seems to be pretty natural
to discuss in the .fabuland group, given the huge overlap and revival aspects
of it, there doesn't seem to be much reason to create a .disney.mickeymouse
group (yet, anyway). And I think the Winnie-the-Pooh stuff is technically a
Disney license but much more natural to discuss in the .duplo area (IMHO) than
it would be under some .disney.winniethepooh group.
The new (year 2000) stuff that LEGO calls "Action Wheelers" is also arguably
an extension or unofficial subcategory of DUPLO Toolo -- even though it's
officially not a LEGO DUPLO product and doesn't say Toolo on it either.
I'd say that the more popular and differentiated something is, the more
important it would be to have a separate group for it. Soccer and Trains
are -- in a way -- part of Town[1], but they have their own followings as
well, in addition to being officially separate from Town.

[1] Okay, that's not quite right. Town and Soccer are actually part of
Trains. Everything exists to support Trains. And Space sucks. But you
knew that. ;-)

| Todd, can you create a technic.slizer group to cover the themes of Throwbots, Roboriders and Bionicle? It seems that with Bionicle these sorts of figures are here to stay, and they are different enough from everything else to warrent their own (...) (24 years ago, 1-Nov-00, to lugnet.admin.general)
