Re: Trailing Slashes (Re: Stick in the mud...)

(...) It's a technical bug. :) It's alright for IE to generally assume that they are the same for the purposes of making a history, but it's wrong to use a mechanism that doesn't work if they're different. Web servers generally return a 301 Moved (...) (26 years ago, 21-Aug-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: (cancelled)-why

(...) From me: first, I decided my post was trivial and a bit too pedantic for .lego.direct. So I got rid of it. Then, I made a post with a big grammatical error renderinging it hard to understand. So I superseded it. (26 years ago, 21-Aug-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: The 2001 lineup (list on FBTB)

(...) Be careful what you wish for. You work for IBM, you know how large corporations are, once you ask for a definitive statement it often comes out very restrictive. Sometimes ambiguity is better. (even if it's unpleasant for the audience at home (...) (26 years ago, 21-Aug-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Trailing Slashes (Re: Stick in the mud...)

(...) Technically, yes. Human-factors-wise, no -- most people see them as the same. Steve (26 years ago, 21-Aug-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: There's no such thing as a bad MOC builder (was: Re: New MF model.)

(...) <GRIN> Who, me? There might be one or two areas where I think myself above average but I can name lots where I would stink, were I to try. (Mecha come to mind, for one) (...) Ya, these two points are really the best way to go as it were. (...) (26 years ago, 21-Aug-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Please lower noise

"Fredrik Glöckner" <fredrik.glockner@bio.uio.no> wrote in message news:qrdwvhbvvay.fsf....uio.no... (...) Hmm.... I think that there should be some happy medium between Todd & Suz's idea of the group, and your thoughts of how it will be. It should (...) (26 years ago, 21-Aug-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: (cancelled)-why

(...) I frequently cancel my messages when I make a spelling mistake, or if I write something and the discover that it was not relevant anyway. And some times when I have used a bit "heated" language, and regret just afterwards. Fredrik (26 years ago, 21-Aug-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Please lower noise

(...) I agree with the intentions of your post as well as the intentions to keep the noise down at lugnet.lego(.*), however I don't think this will be fruitful. Whenever there are interesting posts, people will feel like following up with their (...) (26 years ago, 21-Aug-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Purpose of .lego.direct??

What I would like to know is what is considered appropriate, and what is *not* considered appropriate. For example, I thought it prudent to have given TLG a heads-up about some pieces that aren't readily available that I wanted, and posted it in (...)   Re: Membership payment through PayPal

(...) Yes, you can send via PayPal. --Todd (26 years ago, 21-Aug-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Membership payment through PayPal

I just wanted to verify that membership payments can be made through PayPal. Initially, the email that I got about paying my "self-assigned membership fee" was in "the form of a personal check, a cashier's check, a bank cheque, a U.S. or (...) (26 years ago, 21-Aug-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: So where is Brad's answer to the 2001 info?

(...) I'd better check on that. As far as I'm aware, it's not illegal to publish a private communication, just rude (assuming it doesn't contain any sensitive information, of course). (...)   Re: So where is Brad's answer to the 2001 info?

(...) Absolutely -- I agree! -- and when I said before that I preferred clear legal requests to non-legal requests, I don't mean I prefer to heard heavy-handed manners :) but just to know that it's a legal request for removal. It can be perfectly (...) (26 years ago, 20-Aug-00, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: So where is Brad's answer to the 2001 info?

(...) However, it has an effect which the more draconian-seeming approach of going over the head of the original poster doesn't -- it makes other people more likely to voluntarily stop spreading the information. If the original poster would have (...) (26 years ago, 20-Aug-00, to lugnet.admin.general)
