| I am both horribly unobservant and lazy. This first is indicated by the fact that I didn't notice that the time stamps are generated (apparantly) by the local time of the post. The later may be determined by the fact that I haven't dug into the back (...) (26 years ago, 18-Dec-98, to lugnet.admin.general)

| (...) Well, the historical reason is that original time of post is reasonably meaningful, whereas time a post arrived at any given server is fairly arbitrary. Anyway, this'll all (kinda) be solved when Todd implements user accounts. That, or you can (...) (26 years ago, 18-Dec-98, to lugnet.admin.general)

Security is a major concern of mine, though, in addition to not knowing how use of this box on our network for goof-off purposes would be perceived, (...)
