Erm, I disagree - 'private' may be mis-interpreted, how about 'home-run'? Or do
the people who dislike ebay announcements also dislike things like Brickshop,
Guarded-Inn,Auczilla etc?

Possibly, but only if a private/home-run auction is easily defined.
