How about something like a /org/ page off the main www.lugnet.com homepage
with a list like that?
It could start out as regular web page and graduate on later to a newsgroup
if/when needed.

Links like the one to www.baylug.org from the SF web page are intended
mainly to help people who don't yet know about BayLUG find BayLUG. That is,
if they happen to know about LUGNET, and are curious about what's going on
in SF, then they'll probably find the BayLUG link.

Ultimately, there'll be a single page as well as any hierarchical
down-the-tree view. For example, on the sitemap thingy, you can view
just the US groups:
http://www.lugnet.com/sitemap.cgi?/loc/us/
or, say, all of the robotics groups:
http://www.lugnet.com/sitemap.cgi?/robotics/
or even all of the groups:
http://www.lugnet.com/sitemap.cgi?/
or even *all* all of the groups! (fully expanded :)
http://www.lugnet.com/sitemap.cgi?/&d=5
So that sort of thing is generally where the LUGNET links lists are headed.
(Plus ontological cross-referencing, of course. :-)

I think it's awesome! It's got the name, the URL, some pages, and even
links to loc groups to get in touch with people in the area. Good show! :)

| What great timing!! I was just going to send you a note with some questions about how you handle the linking. So far, we only have members from the couties that touch the SF Bay. But, I don't have a problem with being a Northern California club, if (...) (25 years ago, 30-Jul-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)
