LUGNET is not sending out message authentication posts.

Occasionally, this happens - I've no idea why though Could Rene or Gerry please look into this ASAP and find out what is causing an authentication message to not get sent out? I find that using the "multiauth" link in a previous post will usually (...) (18 years ago, 23-Dec-06, to lugnet.admin.general)

Password reset request for Ralph Hempel

Hi folks, With the new excitement around the NXT, and my increasing business travel, I would really like it if I could get my account set up so that I can post via the web interface. I was a fairly early member of Lugnet, and have been posting via (...) (18 years ago, 16-Dec-06, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: A Question about Posting Behavior

(...) The only semi-tricky part would be to identify the 'XXX said' line - though, it's a safe assumption that if the line before a quoted region has exactly one sentance and ends with a ':', it's part of the quote. Probably miss a bunch of edge (...) (18 years ago, 14-Dec-06, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: A Question about Posting Behavior

(...) Well, there's a little more to it, actually. Basically, you need the code to figure out what's what. Since LUGNET was designed to work with SMTP and NNTP, the exact string "In lugnet.xxx.yyy, ZZZ wrote:" won't be consistant. Right now, the (...)   Re: A Question about Posting Behavior

(...) Of course the "XXX said" could be kept the same but colour coded with the daughter colour. Tim (18 years ago, 14-Dec-06, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

Re: A Question about Posting Behavior

(...) Okay, I can understand that, but at least couldn't the colors match up without any loss in accuracy? JOHN (18 years ago, 14-Dec-06, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

Re: A Question about Posting Behavior

(...) Well, the reason is because "Sensible Person" didn't actually write the text "In lugnet.admin.general, Sensible Party wrote:", so it's not really something that they said. I believe it's the standard for old text email quotings and newsgroup (...) (18 years ago, 14-Dec-06, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

  A Question about Posting Behavior

I have had this question in my mind since Todd initiated the color-coding for responses in a thread: when someone replies to a post, why doesn't the number of arrows correspond to the text of the poster? For example, if someone named Sensible Party (...) (18 years ago, 14-Dec-06, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

Questions about the setup for mail-to-news on lugnet.com

This is still an ongoing issue for LUGNET and people who have to occasionally post to the lugnet.robotics hierarchy. However, some interesting questions about the gateway arise. For instance, I keep finding that my email address is specified as the (...) (18 years ago, 13-Dec-06, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Strange FTX behaviour

(...) Yup, that was it. Upgrade to the new version (0.8), it's fixed there. Oddity - for some reason my FF wasn't able to detect there's a new version when I did "find updates". If that happens to you too, let me know! As a workaround, I had to (...) (18 years ago, 4-Dec-06, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Strange FTX behaviour

(...) I'm pretty sure that's the peeron extension doing that. I'll have to figure out exactly what it's doing wrong, but probably need to tell it to ignore <code> blocks, or somesuch. (18 years ago, 4-Dec-06, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Strange FTX behaviour

On (URL) this page> in the guide. When I first load (or refresh) the page, everything seems to display fine, but when the page load nears completion, the top box (showing the code example for the 3 forestmen sets) contracts to show just the (...)   Re: Is this group in the right place?

(...) In my own specific case, there is not even a street to mention, one way or another. Appearantly I'm not from somewhere that spans the globe..:-) Selçuk (18 years ago, 1-Dec-06, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

Re: Is this group in the right place?

(...) In that case there was a definite need for you to be provided with information, it was raised in the Ambassadors mailing list, there was some discussion amongst the Ambassadors, and, after consultation, LEGO allowed the information you (...) I can't speak for others, but can tell you I liaised with LEGO Australia and the Brickvention organisers, including negotiating sponsorship by LEGO for Brickvention. (...)   Re: Is this group in the right place?

(...) Well I don't entirely agree with that Allister. Through a LEGO Ambassador, TLC were able to provide me with information that they were unable or unwilling to provide any other way. I won't comment on the usefulness of the information, but at (...) (18 years ago, 1-Dec-06, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

Re: Is this group in the right place?

(...) "Secretive Customer Representative" seems more appropriate. Personally, I had hoped that they were diplomats to the Lego community. I hoped that we could count on them. They could give guidance with setting up public events. They could attend (...) (18 years ago, 30-Nov-06, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

  Re: Message indexing awry?

(...) One idea I've seen used is to allow editing until someone replies, then it's locked. Allister (18 years ago, 28-Nov-06, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Message indexing awry?

(...) I quie like the fact that you can't edit your posts. It makes you get it right first time(1) and prevents people 'changing history' However I can see why it would be useful, especially for correcting links. Tim (1) before anything says (...)
