More old LUGNET homepage prototypes discovered Todd Lehman
Whoa, I'd totally forgotten about these... These are a few prototypes from the last LUGNET homepage makeover process, which was May to August of 2000. As you can see it was somewhat iterative. I'm throwing these out here as food for thought. For (...) (21 years ago, 24-Feb-04, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.announce, FTX) !

(...) [snip] (...) So I take it that a selection of homepages could be created based on sub-interests ex spacers castle etc. User buildable(?) and no change other than default theme-format in a cookie or member info. Our pre-view test via member (...) (21 years ago, 24-Feb-04, to lugnet.admin.general)

(...) Yes! The little horizontal strip of flags against the black looks great! I say bring' em back, with links to the .loc groups. I also like how all of the concepts feature "top stories". This is something that should be kept for those of us who (...) (21 years ago, 24-Feb-04, to lugnet.admin.general)

(...) It was THAT long ago?! wow. Funny thing: I just found the color printouts of these same pages! Poor Todd, I had marked them up w/my comments and they were so harsh! dear, oh dear. I have other drafts as well, and some new ideas. For the very (...) (21 years ago, 24-Feb-04, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

Hi Todd, (...) looking through these now twice I think the current home page quite good (better than these alternatives), so don't change too much. Good: - Good looking logo in the upper left corner - Interesting or important stuff like top stories (...) (21 years ago, 24-Feb-04, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: More old LUGNET homepage prototypes discovered —Mike Thorn
(...) I like the flags. :) Add a bit of colour without making the page too 'busy.' Plus they add to that international feel. Someone suggested they be linked to the individual .loc groups - good idea. I think my favorites are #2 and #2a, for a (...) (21 years ago, 24-Feb-04, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

Re: More old LUGNET homepage prototypes discovered —Thomas Avery
I like the blue headers on the #3 pages: (URL) solid colors across the page on the top gives the site a solid feel. The blue shades are inviting and friendly, and the flags are awesome (they also make the site inviting and freindly) ! I also like (...) (21 years ago, 24-Feb-04, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: More old LUGNET homepage prototypes discovered —William R. Ward
(...) The flags look good, but what are they supposed to do? Often when a row of flags appears on a website, it is for selecting a language. But instead, no matter which flag you click on, you get lugnet.loc. I think the flags only make sense if (...) (21 years ago, 24-Feb-04, to lugnet.admin.general, FTX)

Re: More old LUGNET homepage prototypes discovered —Thomas Garrison
(...) Well, they read text, but only after they've determined what it's going to be about (so to know if it's worth reading). A block of text without a header is unlikely to be read. (...) I don't agree with having a navigation bar on the left. It's (...) (21 years ago, 24-Feb-04, to lugnet.admin.general)
