Done. Tim, thanks for the notes. --Todd (21 years ago, 20-Sep-03, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: NNTP news server restarted

(...) An update: Although the above resulted in the server accepting new posts again, it was still running an excessively high load. The problem appears to have stemmed from someone in Toronto, Canada running a script which was making (and still (...) (21 years ago, 20-Sep-03, to lugnet.admin.nntp, lugnet.admin.general)

  NNTP news server restarted

Due to what appears to be an excessively high load condition (more than 20 times normal) last night the news server stopped accepting NNTP connections and consequently also new messages (except for a few system-internal messages posted at midnight (...)   Password Reset Request

Todd - Robert Miles - LUGNET Member 1222 - has informed me that he's sent multiple password requests over the last year and has gotten no answer. Please address this. Thanks. -Tim PS - see my email last night about member 1449 with the same issue. (21 years ago, 19-Sep-03, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Policy for posting in lugnet.announce

(...) I think one of the reasons Dan (and others; it's not all his fault) spent a bunch of time trying to limit the scope of .announce posts was becuase for a while, it was getting used for any old thing, and those of us getting .annouce by e-mail (...)   Re: Policy for posting in lugnet.announce

(...) I really hate to say this, but I think it was my fault. I think I was on some weird policing kick, trying to limit posts to the .announce group. I have no idea what I was thinking, but trust me, I see the error of my ways now. Not that my say (...) (21 years ago, 12-Sep-03, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Policy for posting in lugnet.announce

I noticed at the end of this post (URL) that apparently the rtlToronto group has been asked not to post in lugnet.announce: (...) I wonder what the reason for this is? I would very much like to know when they are putting on their robot competitions. (...) (21 years ago, 12-Sep-03, to lugnet.admin.general)

Any official word on the LUGNET posting problem??

Many users may have noticed that about 26 hours ago (6 PM EST, Sunday) and for several hours following that Lugnet was unable to accept new messages to the newsgroups portion of the site. Also, the NNTP interface was broken (and probably SMTP, (...) (21 years ago, 8-Sep-03, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: unsubscribing

(...) How did you subscribe? When I subscribe (very very rare, I use the web interface pretty much exclusively), I go to this page (URL) then to this link on it (URL) manipulate my subscription there. Hope that helps. If not, ask again, after (...) (21 years ago, 29-Aug-03, to lugnet.admin.general)

  unsubscribing

I wasn't sure where to direct this since i'm a newbie new guy. I have subscibed to lugnet.space via email and need to unsubscribe can someone direct me to where or what I need to do. Pat Bunn (21 years ago, 28-Aug-03, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: A serious clone question

(...) I agree with James here. Richard, I don't read posts in the Clickits or Znap forums. Nor do I read the ones in off-topic.clone. That's why I think this website ought to be about LEGO. If it was about building bricks, I'd have to scan through (...) (21 years ago, 18-Aug-03, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.general)

  Re: A serious clone question

(...) Rabble-rouser. :) I don't necessarily disagree, but I think that if you're going to re-open that can of worms, it's probably best to try and engage the admins about it, or more of the community at large. Hence the cross-post. James (21 years ago, 18-Aug-03, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: Newsgroup for comic-related stuff?

(...) .build works, but .general works also (while I feel that .general gets overused, I still feel it's an acceptable place to post any mocs that don't fit into any of the theme groups, my impression was that .build was more a place to discuss (...)   Adding Newsgroups for new LUG's/LTC's

  Re: Newsgroup for comic-related stuff?

(...) I don't see any mention of MOCs in the .general charter, so I figured .build is the basic catch-all group. (21 years ago, 14-Aug-03, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Newsgroup for comic-related stuff?

(...) Er, um, they're non-minifig MOCs. _Very_ non-minifig. If you've seen my BioniWars MOCs (Star Wars characters built in Toa scale), you've got a rough idea of what I'm talking about (sorry, can't give specifics at this time). (21 years ago, 14-Aug-03, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Newsgroup for comic-related stuff?

(...) Of course that would be a minifig MOC... Davis was asking about non-minfig MOCs. Of course the answer is that if no specific group exists for your post, lugnet.general is usually an appropriate place. Frank (21 years ago, 14-Aug-03, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Newsgroup for comic-related stuff?

(...) I've generally seen people post in build.minifigs when they had something like a custom Batman fig. Bruce (21 years ago, 14-Aug-03, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Newsgroup for comic-related stuff?

I was wondering if there is any specific LUGNET group/subgroup that is appropriate for non-minifig MOCs relating to non-Disney comic books/cartoons, or if .build is pretty much all there is. I haven't noticed any in my perusal of the general group (...) (21 years ago, 14-Aug-03, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.general)
