Afternoon all, There is a group of us who have been playing play by email RPG called Starship, using our MOC ships. It followed on from another similar RPG called Sector 62. It will be succeeded by another larger game. The freebie forum interface (...) (22 years ago, 18-Dec-02, to lugnet.admin.general)

Let me fix this a bit, I made the mistake, HE not she... Josh (I KNEW I shouldn't have gone with that darned gut feeling!) (22 years ago, 12-Dec-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.general)

  Help for a fellow AFOL!!

I met a fellow AFOL today on the Bricklink chatroom who is having troubles with the posting forms on Lugnet. She's signed up as a member & filled out the posting form, but to no avail. The server will not let her post, & she has not recieved any (...) (22 years ago, 12-Dec-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: New Poll

(...) There was some discussion a while back about mandating inclusion of certain choices. I thought it was a good idea then and I still do. I would vote the same way you would on about 1/2 of them too. (22 years ago, 11-Dec-02, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: New Poll

(...) I think member originated polls are good, but it would be nice for an option to be automatically added to indicate that one chose not to respond to the poll, and better if one could choose from at least a couple reasons. About half the polls (...) (22 years ago, 11-Dec-02, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: New Poll

(...) This poll is flawed: - doesn't include the universe of possible answers - doesn't even include a "none of the above" - displays the poll taker's bias in the way the answers are worded. So why would it be interesting to watch, exactly? Or put (...) (22 years ago, 11-Dec-02, to lugnet.off-topic.debate, lugnet.general, lugnet.admin.general)

You can always try "Avant browser" - it uses IE for the windows, but collects them in a tabbed user interface. Comes with a bunch of other features too, (...)   Re: CLSOTW links

(...) Were you aware that both Netscape and IE let you pull down a history from the back button? I use it all the time to go back more than one page. Much quicker than closing 20 windows... Frank (22 years ago, 9-Dec-02, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.admin.suggestions)

Re: New posting rules for members?

(...) I think you may have lost your cookies... try going through the posting setup again and make sure you ask it to keep the info on your machine. Hope that helps. (22 years ago, 8-Dec-02, to lugnet.admin.general)

  New posting rules for members?

I'm a paid member of lugnet & in recent posts I've had to check whether or not I've read tearms/conditions, then fill in my name & e-mail address before replying or posting new messages. Previously I clicked on 'Reply' or 'new' icon & immedeately (...) (22 years ago, 7-Dec-02, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: CLSOTW links

I'll give Mozilla a try. I usually browse with IE6 as it's the default in work, occasionally I switch to Opera. Haven't tried Mozilla yet. Don't worry, I know the right mouse click, but the back button often does not work as it should. Besides, when (...) (22 years ago, 7-Dec-02, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  News Spotlight function

I recently got curatorship of off-topic.geek and off-topic.fun and have been editing the FTX for the front page of .geek... (send those links and resources suggestions!) I wanted to do a "what is hot" list like I did for .trains so I did the same (...) (22 years ago, 7-Dec-02, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Coolest LEGO Experience?

(...) I think it's something about how Steve posts.... His posts all do that, and they break threading too. I suspect maybe he's posting via email and using a damaged mail client. I think if you look at it in raw mode it will wrap though. Todd (...) (22 years ago, 7-Dec-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.people, lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: CLSOTW links

(...) Hmm, that sounds like an interesting feature, ASSUMING Mozilla doesn't have the problem I have with Netscape. Netscape has a habit of going on vacation while loading certain things (I think resolving a host name is one thing) where it doesn't (...)   Re: Coolest LEGO Experience?

(...) that article, it doesn't word wrap, so each paragraph comes out as one really long line. Has something gone wacky with the way Lugnet generates the HTML? Frank (22 years ago, 6-Dec-02, to lugnet.general, lugnet.people, lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: CLSOTW links

(...) Can't you right click on the link and ask to open in a new window? My preference is for sites to let me decide to open a link in a new window or not. If I'm following links I don't always want to fill my screen with more and more windows. (...) (22 years ago, 6-Dec-02, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Re: CLSOTW links

(...) Ya, what Larry said. Ronald, I'm curious what web browser you're using. Currently, the best web browser (IMHO) is the latest Mozilla with tabbed browsing. And in the Preferences > Navigator > Tabbed Browsing dialog, you can even check [x] Load (...) (22 years ago, 6-Dec-02, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.admin.suggestions)

  Re: CLSOTW links

(...) Right mouse click on the link and choose "Open in new window" doesn't work for you? (...) Using the back button doesn't work for you? Hm... you may want to consider getting a new browser if those features aren't working. I'd prefer that (...) (22 years ago, 6-Dec-02, to lugnet.admin.general, lugnet.admin.suggestions)
