  member packets (continued)

sorry.. I'm posting from a library with time-limited 'net use. (...) anyway... after separating last spring, Todd handed the things over to me. It was then that I found out that all document/graphics files had been lost at some time in the past. In (...) (23 years ago, 17-Jan-02, to lugnet.admin.general)

  member packets

I'll make a more official post later, but for now, to put the mystery to rest... When Todd and I began LUGNET, years ago, the member pack was a fun project done in our spare time as an 'extra' thing for our new friends as they joined up. It was a (...)   Re: Peeron connection problem

(...) this is really not a LUGNET issue - I'll reply offline. Dan (23 years ago, 17-Jan-02, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Peeron connection problem

A couple of days ago (right after the update announcement), I tried to download the inventory hosted at (URL) with Webstripper ((URL) I left the program running overnight, but it didn't manage to get the site downloaded even over a fast connection.   Re: Still no Membrship pack/ password

(...) The packets are more of a free bonus, really. Sort of a fun thing to get. And, I imagine, a lot of work to generate. (there's printing the stickers, printing the envelope labels, stuffing the envelopes etc. etc.) I expect there probably are (...) (23 years ago, 17-Jan-02, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Still no Membrship pack/ password

Dan, My membership has been active since last January. That's where this whole mini-rant started. Like I said earlier in this thread, if you need another pair of hands to send emails, I could help. I spend the daytime at home with my little boy and (...) (23 years ago, 17-Jan-02, to lugnet.admin.general)

(...) that you will get - the password will be emailed to you (if it hasn't been already) once the membership is activated. It has nothing to do with the membership packets. Dan (23 years ago, 17-Jan-02, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Still no Membrship pack/ password

I agree, Scott. If we aren't going to get membership packs, someone should say so. I would think that whatever information is there could be morphed into a web page that could be accessed by members and not lurkers. I would like a password, though, (...)   Re: Still no Membrship pack/ password

If it has not been done already, it sounds like a note needs to be put on the membership form saying that membership packs may be delayed (or may never come). As for those who are waiting for packs right now I think they need to be updated. I expect (...) (23 years ago, 17-Jan-02, to lugnet.admin.general)

(...) Oh, not even that. I'm #447 and I never got a packet either. :( ~Grand Admiral Muffin Head -- Mark's Lego Creations (URL) (23 years ago, 17-Jan-02, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Broken Monorail Motor

(...) Who said that? :-) (...) All kidding aside, and even though monorail is an orphaned product, does it make sense for them to have their own group? I dunno, which is why I ask. I can't remember, I may even have asked before about this. The three (...) (23 years ago, 17-Jan-02, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Still no Membrship pack/ password

Tanya, thanks for bringing this up again. I posted almost the exact same queston nearly a month ago and am still awaiting a response. My guess would be that the packets were made for the first 500 people and the rest of us just get to grin and bear (...) (23 years ago, 17-Jan-02, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Broken FTX linking?

(...) It works for me at work, under IE 5.00. It doesn't work for me at home, under IE 5.50, but I suspect that's because I don't have a newsreader installed on my home computer. What browser (and version) are you using? James (23 years ago, 17-Jan-02, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: Broken FTX linking?

(...) ... (...) This link: news:rec.toys.lego works fine for me. (opens the news client, etc.) This link: (URL) not work for me. Are you saying that this works for you? Cary (23 years ago, 17-Jan-02, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Still no Membrship pack/ password

(...) I am 549 and still waiting. I know there are those that came before me that are also waiting. Let's face it membership kits will probably never happen again. Jude (23 years ago, 17-Jan-02, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Still no Membrship pack/ password

Dear Suz et al, I have been waiting ever so patiently. I would like to make another $10 contribution to Lugnet, but it seems to me that I should hold off until I can at least see what my first $10 (that I sent last January) got me besides posting (...)   Re: Broken FTX linking?

(...) For me (On IE 5.00), it attempts to open a newsreader, and resolve the group from the name list available from my news server. This fails, because I'm at work, and default to internal NNTP servers, which don't port through usenet groups. (...) (23 years ago, 16-Jan-02, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Broken FTX linking?

The FAQ entry: (URL) this FTX: ...favorite USENET newsgroups such as <news:rec.toys.lego>. ... I'm pretty sure this used to work. It resolves to: (URL) for me results in a 'page not found' page on IE. Other jump.cgi uses resolve fine. Cary (23 years ago, 16-Jan-02, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Are you looking for a 1592 Town Square - Castle Scene in MIB condition?

Hi Larry, As an member of this community I would say thanks Larry !!! Keep up the good work, but if everyone every now and then made an remark, Larry wouldn't be the only one to do so. So if you're commenting Larry, look at yourself. LUGnet is (...) (23 years ago, 16-Jan-02, to lugnet.admin.general)
