(...) Hi Sean, you should have received your new password via email a few minutes ago. -René (18 years ago, 21-Jun-06, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Are you missing news-by-mail digests/forwards?

Hi all, I have received reports, that news-by-mail was not entirely functional. According to the logs it appears, digests do get sent out, but I cannot easily identify if all subscribers do get updated with what they subscribed for. Can you please (...)   Some minor issues fixed...

Hi all, I realized this morning that parts of the news posting and news to mail subscription signup as well als the password change pages did not work correctly. These pages are now fixed, so you should be able to sign up for posting/subscriptions (...) (18 years ago, 21-Jun-06, to lugnet.admin.general)

  User Password

I was just wondering if there was any way to recover a lost password for an account? I know that the answer is most likely no, but I figured I would ask just to be sure. Thanks for the help. Sean (18 years ago, 20-Jun-06, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Important: Index rebuild under way and some other issues

Good morning, thanks to feedback from some users I noticed that image display in the LUGNET Guide did not work properly. I have reinstalled the image set und fixed a couple of links - now everything appears to be operational again. Regards, Jerry (18 years ago, 20-Jun-06, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: Important: Index rebuild under way and some other issues

Ok, my apologies - I've learned a bit about history and news server ports used by LUGNET :-) Okay, from now on, ports 119, 1119, 8000 and 8080 are operational for NNTP access again. I will be monitoring usage of the individual ports and if I find (...) (18 years ago, 19-Jun-06, to lugnet.admin.general)

(...) I hope he did a thourough wipe of those disks ;) But seriously, indeed an awesome job on the move! Apart from seeing a few spam notes, I didn't know it happened until after the posts about the remaining few issues came in. So at least to me it (...)   Re: Important: Index rebuild under way and some other issues

Just to keep you all updated, the rebuild of the search index is still under way - apparently there is quite a lot to index after about 8 years of service ;-) It seems that the issues some of you reported will be gone after the rebuild completes.   Re: Important: Index rebuild under way and some other issues

(...) Mike, you got me here: 8080 is certainly no port I heard of so far (it's a common "high" port for some webservers, but AFAIK only 8000 and 1119 are said to have been used for NNTP client access). Please tell me we have a misunderstanding here (...) (18 years ago, 19-Jun-06, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: This is it: We're moving!

FYI - I think I got post authentication working again. However, it seems that replying to the email it sends you doesn't quite do the trick yet. Using the link it provides (or the multiauth.cgi) does work, so I guess for now we'll have to use those, (...) (18 years ago, 18-Jun-06, to lugnet.admin.general)
