Re: Classification of Promo sets on Pause

(...) 2140 has no "Town" label on it. But it's in a blue background box like other Town sets. I prefer to proceed the other way: 2140 says "LEGO System" on it. Therefore it is not Technic, nor Duplo, nor Primo. Given that it is "System".. is it (...) (26 years ago, 2-Jan-99, to lugnet.admin.database)

Re: Classification of Promo sets on Pause

(...) Do they have the Town logo on them, or are they in some other identified as being part of Town? If not, they shouldn't be labeled as part of Town. Steve (26 years ago, 2-Jan-99, to lugnet.admin.database)

Re: Classification of Promo sets on Pause

(...) Disagree. IMNSHO Promotional should be a modifier of availability, not set type. Both ANWBs are Town, dunno if "general" or not, but the one with the car transporter available now is "general" I guess. (26 years ago, 2-Jan-99, to lugnet.admin.database)

Classification of Promo sets on Pause

I think the classification of Promotional sets is a bit inconsistent. For example some are listed under their theme "Town, General" and some are listed under "Promotional, Something". An example of this is the 2 ANWB sets, the original one is listed (...) (26 years ago, 2-Jan-99, to lugnet.admin.database)

Re: Older Set info to add

(...) Question: What's a foop? ;) Take your time about it. I spent all day (intermittantly) getting that list together and I still have a pile of S@H catalogs left! ;) Jeff (26 years ago, 30-Dec-98, to lugnet.admin.database)

Re: Older Set info to add

(...) I'm gonna hafta add these and the others and the ones from someone else a week ago all together in one swell foop sometime next week -- but keep 'em coming now! :) --Todd (26 years ago, 30-Dec-98, to lugnet.admin.database)

  Older Set info to add

Here is some more set info for Pause! (Todd, some of the prices I have listed here are different from what you have in Pause. I don't know why, so you can use whichever you think should be there.) ---...--- From the 1986 Mail Order Catalog: (NEW) (...) (26 years ago, 30-Dec-98, to lugnet.admin.database)

  The set number 256

The set number 256 is listed in the database as having no picture: (URL) picture of this set can be found at (URL) a bit worn. I'll blame my brother for that, as he, being older than me, probably got the set new. This seems to be the same set as (...) (26 years ago, 27-Dec-98, to lugnet.admin.database)

  Re: A database question

(...) But writing a function is MUCH more flexible than the built-in export facility. PLUS you can write it such that you do not have to do anything but press a button to get this file generated, MUCH nicer, IMHO (or perhaps I'm just biased because (...)   Re: A Technic set DB outline

(...) That sounds about right. (I'm on trial for this, right?) September-October 1995 was when those discussions were going on that resulted in the FLG being created... At least I listed to Joshua/wisdom and used "series" instead of "sub-theme." :) (...) (26 years ago, 2-Dec-98, to lugnet.admin.database)

Re: A Technic set DB outline

(...) I dunno. This comment looks like it took place sometime around Sept. '95, and Deja News finds references to "sub-theme" and "subtheme" as far back as April '95 -- and Deja News doesn't go back much further than that. So I don't think Todd's to (...)   Re: A Technic set DB outline

(...) 'Subtheme' was a term you suggested back in the days when Fibblesnork was more of a living entity, and you suggested that some terminology be laid out. It's the one that took off after that discussion. I don't think it was so much a case of "I (...) (26 years ago, 2-Dec-98, to lugnet.admin.database)

Re: A Technic set DB outline

(...) Eh, whenever did I invent that term? And what have I done to popularize it? The weird term I made up for the FLG was "series." I don't like subtheme either, unless there is also the concept of supertheme -- as in subcategory and supercategory. (...) (26 years ago, 1-Dec-98, to lugnet.admin.database)

Re: A Technic set DB outline

(...) In case accuracy WRT TLG is important here, the actual hierarchy looks like the following (I may never forgive Todd for his invention of the term "subtheme" :-P) Product Programme +- Product Line +- Product Theme "Race" is a theme in the "Town (...) First off, let me state that were I designing this from scratch I'd do an object model not a data model but... (...) You need a hierarchy table.
