Re: member id's: simple numbers or something more?

(...) Actually, I don't see that as much of an issue. As an example, my e-mail address shows up as "galliard@shades-of-night.com", however, the actual POP box I am assigned is "shadesofnight03", which has yet another designation for netnation (...)   Animation & Sports group rename

Today I'm going to tackle the renaming of lugnet.publish.cinema to lugnet.animation and lugnet.football to lugnet.sports. This transformation will basically go in 4 steps: 1. First the old groups will be disabled, so that no new posts can be made. (...) (21 years ago, 4-May-03, to lugnet.animation, lugnet.sports, lugnet.admin.nntp)

It's been a while so I'll repeat my mantra.... <soapbox> Auctions are certainly not allowed outside of lugnet.market.auction (and at least one lugnet.org group), but the rules have not yet changed (unless Todd stealth changed them) to disallow (...)   Re: Member Passwords - how to purge ones you can't remember?

(...) Send me an email tonight and I'll wipe out the lot. (*Don't* mail me your password.) Because they're stored encrypted, there's no way to wipe any one out selectively unless you know what it is. Then you can set up the one you want to keep (...) (24 years ago, 8-Jan-01, to lugnet.admin.general)

Re: why no ".dat" email digests?...

(...) Because 'lugnet.cad.dat' is retired, inactive, no-longer-in-existence. Unless I misunderstand news-by-mail, you only get messages for groups you specifically subscribe to, not all the subgroups under the specific groups. Steve (22 years ago, 24-Jun-02, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Have the admins gone AWOL?

I'm getting concerned about the lack of response from anyone official regarding the open mail relay issue.
