  Painting bricks?!

I've been wanting to build replicas of some of the buildings here in Celebration, Florida for my Lego train set, but the buildings are all in strange colors like teal and cantaloupe for which I don't have nearly enough pieces to build them (...) (20 years ago, 28-May-04, to lugnet.general)

Re: Samsonite Lego in the USA (1961-72) were factory seconds??

(...) Any way to tell which bricks are Cellulose Acetate and which are ABS (other than visual inspection)? From some preliminary checking it doesn't appear that there is a link between the logo font and the material. I did notice that some of my (...) (20 years ago, 9-Jun-04, to lugnet.general)

In lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, Dave Schuler wrote worthily on MB Ditto Dave! A good answer to the question of whether you'll like the bricks is to simply buy a cheap set and see what you think.   Re: Color Names

(...) That sorta gets tricky marketing-wise. If you have a color called "Red", then change it just slightly, forever-after calling it "Apple Red", I'd think newcomers would start to be confused.   Re: Brick 2 x 2 with Wheels and Dually Wheels

Niels - Looks nice! On some of my older 2x2 wheel bricks there is a gap which allows the axle to be removed and/or snapped into the brick. On the newer bricks the metal axle cannot be removed (looks similar to your ldraw part). I'll see if I can (...) (20 years ago, 7-Jun-04, to lugnet.cad.ray, FTX)

Re: Bulk Bricks online survey - results...

(...) What amazes me is that only 839 users participated. I expected a lot more, something like 5000 or so. But then again, I cannot relate the 839 to anything, I dont have a clue as to how it represents the AFOL community. (How big is the AFOL (...) (20 years ago, 25-May-04, to lugnet.lego)

  Re: 2x4 Brick model?

(...) Since a 2x4 is about 1.25 inches long I guess you'd be looking at a scale of about 1:9.6. So it would probably be just as easy to build it to 9 times original size, or 10 times. I have built a few 'jumbo' bricks like this and they are fairly (...) (20 years ago, 9-Jun-04, to lugnet.general)
