  Re: Lego Parts You Hate....

(...) I generally dislike big parts that have restrictions on how they connect to other pieces. I think LURPs and BURPs are OK, along with 6x6x10 stanchions, but a lot of other pieces that size or bigger are next to useless, unless you're really (...) (19 years ago, 4-Sep-05, to lugnet.general)

Am I the only person who finds Lego CAD systems infuriating?

Seriously? I've never gotten the hang of any Lego CAD system, including LDD, MLCAD etc...I can't figure out how to do depth control with LDD for example. I've spent the last fifteen minutes trying to make bricks stick to the virtual baseplate...I (...) (19 years ago, 30-Aug-05, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto) !

(...) These look great. The technic disk are way to wide for a 6wide engine. I've done something similar for a GP9's fans. But I used regular plastic 9v era wheels. If you remove them from the metal axel, they have an almost stud on the back. The (...) (19 years ago, 1-Sep-05, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Hey, This looks really good. It looks as if it would be an alternate model for set (URL) 4886, Building Bonanza>. Did you have that in mind? (...) Thanks Kris! That would make $11.98 X 13 = $155.74 (plus the 8 scadzillion other pieces you get) ..... YIKES!!! Now add into that all the white bricks for making it a decent looking model.... it starts adding up! I can say this much, before I (...) (19 years ago, 1-Sep-05, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Re: On creating life-sized sculpture

It depends on what the sculpture is going to be used for. If it will be on display where random people will touch it you'll probably want to have a metal skeleton within. (...) Tack on a white 2x4 and the price goes to $15.27. You do get 22 white 2x4's apparently in the next bag, which incidently, if you just make a model of the above mentioned bricks it costs $4.99. Hmm... To redeem some of the parts that have been mentioned before: 1x2x2: this was originally introduced for various printed bricks (including with a train window print on a clear one - now that's a nice window).
