Hmm...

To redeem some of the parts that have been mentioned before:

1x2x2: this was originally introduced for various printed bricks (including
with a train window print on a clear one - now that's a nice window). Now
the current use in plain solid colors I agree is annoying. I think the
center axle hole in this part is so that it can be used as a switch position
indicator in the 12v points.

The 2x2x2 dome has been mentioned, in clear it's nice. Also, round things
without stud gaps are nice. One could also make use of it's hollowness with
a solid colored one.

The headlight/washingmachine brick as mentioned, nice part. And I think it
is ok sometimes for window uses, though clearly having the classical window
line in it's original glory would be better for windows.

Wheel hubs with studs, as mentioned, being able to attach things to the
wheels is useful (and I should note that this was one of the earliest pieces
to enable SNOT construction...Oh, it was also critical for operation of the
US gears (they didn't have their own axles, they snapped onto a wheel hub).

The 1x1 with clip mentioned may be annoying how many I have in old grey, but
it is most definitely a useful part.

The new 1x6 etc. curved pieces make up a nice system. I haven't used them
yet, but I see a lot of potential in them.

To concur with some of the hated parts:

The 1x3x4 door - I dislike this especially since it doesn't fit with any
other doors and windows in the system (well, ok, I guess it worked somewhat
with the old classical windows). I have thought about using a bunch of them
for fridges in a convenience store. They could also make decent windows in
minifig scale if doubled up.

The nylon hinge - I know I had at least one of these as a kid (I had a small
fire engine set which had a trailer, and we might have had more in our
collection), but I don't remember making that much use of it, probably
because it was so hard to use.

Hmm now for my own most hated part?

Probably one of the odder ZNAP pieces. Some of those pieces are useable, but
some are just bizarre...

Frank

I don't know why you would throw those away, they can be quite useful for decoration and other purposes!! I would gladly take your entire "POOPS and such" box if you would be willing to include those in it, I can certainly see uses for those! Please (...) (19 years ago, 31-Aug-05, to lugnet.general)
