1) 2x2 and 4x4 stud 1960's red wheels with the old gray tires...YUK!

The gray does look odd compared to black, but like others, I've always liked
the idea of being able to build on the wheels.

2) 1x4x3 1970's door with separate frame in a different color.  These look
more
like windows than doors.  Don't like the style at all!  No wonder they
only
lasted for less than 5 years in the 1970's.

I remember these.  They certainly didn't seem to fit mini-figs at all.
Don't miss 'em.

3) Those 1x1x1 "headlight" bricks, which are a poor substitute for windows
in
the remake of the USS Constitution (in yellow), and in the new Lego
Factory
sets.  They remind me of the doors to a Pigeon coop.

I can see your gripe with them on the Constitution re-issue, since the
original part is more rarer.  I do love this part, but I would love it even
more if it were just a 1x1x1 brick with a stud on one side WITHOUT the
recess.  That has always made SNOT building difficult with this piece, which
is a pain because there aren't many alternatives that are this small (hard
to get much smaller than a 1x1x1 brick).  I understand why it's there (if
you turn the piece on it's back it's exactly two plates high) but I've
hardly ever used it this way.  You can see it applied here:

http://www.peeron.com/scans/6957-1/4  in step 7

I was totally surprised by this when I rebuilt this set for the first time.
I had no idea that they could be used this way!

What say ye.... what pieces don't you like?

Ditto on the 1x2x2 bricks and 2x2x3 bricks.

Ditto again on most of the Sports-specific parts as well, the worst offender
being the Soccer player handle thingy.

How about some parts that I hate not existing that could greatly enhance the
balance of the System?  For example:

2x2x3 inverse extreme-slope corner

2x2x3 inverse extreme-slope brick (why have they only made 1x2x3's?)

1x3 dual-inverse medium-slope brick

That's just for starters!

Dave

Hello! (...) I wonder what purposes the turned headlight bricks serve in the place you showed. They seem to be there just for the looks. Or wait: Does the base of the headlight give support to the transgreen Facet Top? Turning the headlight brick (...) (19 years ago, 1-Sep-05, to lugnet.general)
