Re: SW E1 picts are up: 7121 Naboo Swamp, 7101 Lightsaber Duel, 7111 Droid Fighter

(...) I thought that was the point: how many pieces one can cram into one model. (...) Even without the low-slopes, these new multi-slope bricks would make good awnings/facades for commercial buildings. Ooo. One must mock-up in LDraw. Steve (25 years ago, 19-Apr-99, to lugnet.starwars)

Auction: 4564 and 4555 Train sets; Update 1

I have'nt received any bids for this sets. Are there anything wrong. Maybe it's a problem that I want the bids in NOK (Norwegian Kroner)? REPRINTED FROM RTL: lego fan wrote: Like John said when you first started out building .... those were the best years .... which is why I think that the golden years were 1961-65, my early years. That was when the Town Plan (set 725) with 1150 (...) (25 years ago, 21-Apr-99, to lugnet.build)

Auction: 4564 and 4555 Train sets; Update 2

I am changing the rules a little for this auction. Asking for bids in NOK (Norwegian Kroner) was a bad idea.   Re: Picture of Mos Espa Podrace box

My thoughts on the Pod Race: Definately buying the set. Wal-Mart accidently put out Hasbro stuff today including Anakin's Pod (24.95) and my first thought was : Too bad it's not the Lego version!   Re: Piece sorting (was: building exhaustion)

I sort mine by color and piece type. I'll give a little bit of a run-down, so here goes. (1) I have a box(shoebox size) for green(very few), yellow(few), tan(fewer), gray, black plates. I stack the 1xY in an offset manner, with the larger plates I (...) (25 years ago, 12-May-99, to lugnet.build)

  Re: putting a 9v motor in 7722?

The 4.5 V motor is taller that the nub on the 9V motor so any train in which the 4.5V motor fits the 9V motor will also fit. Actually, you will need to add bricks to make the 9V motor fit. When adding a 9v motor to set 7720 I added two 4x4 plates to (...) (25 years ago, 20-Apr-99, to lugnet.trains)

Re: 2532 Passenger Jet: Your worst fears realized...

My question would be whether it uses thinwalls. If the plane body is mostly thinwalls and soforth, it may be worth it at 19.95, but if it's all solid white bricks, may not be. Thanks, Gene, for posting the info. (25 years ago, 21-Apr-99, to lugnet.general)

7171 Mos Espa Pod Race Comments (Sebulba's Pod)

I just finished Sebulba's Pod. This thing is heavy. Very clever use of a variety of parts to get something bears significant resemblance to the real thing (at least in comparison to the Galoob Action Fleet version of Sebulba's Pod). Lots of (...) (25 years ago, 4-May-99, to lugnet.starwars)
