  Re: Shifty Brick set reviews

(...) Thanks for the reviews Kerry, being a clone-dabbler myself, I will have to try and track down some in Sydney. (22 years ago, 20-Jun-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Lego is not always perfect, but Shifty is definitely a lot "iffy"-er based on my actual experiences with it (all reported in this newsgroup). (...) This is (...)   Re: Shifty sets: brown beards!

(...) Well, to my mind the HP sets had a similar problem with the bearded guy whose face was misprinted such that even though the minihead will sit lower (or correctly), you have to raise it up so that the glasses do not appear to be located beneath (...)   Re: Shifty sets: brown beards!

(...) Argh!!! When I posted the above, I had only looked in the polybag. Now that I have built the set I have discovered that the brown beards are not moulded properly and prevents the head from sitting as low as it should on the neck. So, while the (...) I have a lot of Coko sets and that does not look like Coko... Looks like a Coko clone! Also, Coko is a clone of both Lego and Tyco. Paul (...) copyright (...) (22 years ago, 10-Jul-02, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

(...) I bought them at a "Great Canadian Dollar Store." The location is in Florenceville, NB on route 105. Something tells me you won't be visiting this particular store... The selection wasn't great - there were a couple of different $1 Shifty (...) (22 years ago, 12-Jul-02, to lugnet.loc.ca)

Re: Shifty, Coko found in Canada

(...) Sorry for the delay - I hadn't even opened the bag until last night. The quality is not equal to that of Lego, but it's not bad. The weapons fit almost as well as genuine parts into the hands of both the Shifty fig and a Lego minifig, and the (...) (22 years ago, 16-Jul-02, to lugnet.loc.ca)

(...) Hi Jeff, This topic is of particular interest to me! (URL) you perhaps tell me which Dollar Store chain the sets were from? And from what location did you procure these items? Also, the minifig appeared to be an excellent reproduction. (with exception (...) (22 years ago, 13-Jul-02, to lugnet.loc.ca)

Re: Follow-up: What *IS* a building instruction anyway?

(...) Well, I'd say almost the opposite. Firstly, the instructions Lego produce are (for most AFOLs) needlessly laborious in their detail. Megablocks and Shifty/Brick both produce far more compact instructions that do more at each step and they are (...) (22 years ago, 31-Jul-02, to lugnet.inst)

(...) This may be true but I don't HAVE megablocks, Shifty/Brick, DON'T WANT THEM, and more importanlty DO NOT CARE WHAT THEY DO! THOSE ARE FAKE LEGOS AND SHOULD I WILL NEVER TOUCH THEM OR THEIR BIs... YUK! =) So in my mind there is ONLY 1 BRICK: (...) (22 years ago, 2-Aug-02, to lugnet.inst)
