  Re[4]: IR Collision avoidance

Adam, I don't use -5v, I just use a single 5v supply. You have to choose your op-amp carefully - I am currently trying ICL7612 but I'm looking at another sort which might turn out to be better. With a single supply, you have to bias things around (...) (28 years ago, 4-Mar-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

  Re[6]: IR Collision avoidance

Adam, I have it working, but I want to tidy it up a bit. At the moment it uses 2 op-amp stages, I think it can work with one. After all, it's just a precision diode! I will put something on in a few days. Fred, I do not have schematic capture (...) (28 years ago, 10-Mar-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Thanks. I tries that. I even tried to use four of them in parralel. OK, here's what I've discovered...just to let you all in on it and maybe it'll help someone in the future.   Re: Polaroid Sonar

I was getting the exact same result when I ran motors with the HB while using my sonar. The problem was that there was alot of noise caused by my motors...apparently electrical and EMI.   To HB or not to HB, that is the question.

I've been looking into the HandyBoard, and it looks great. I'm wondering if I could get some opinions here. A friend of mine and I are going to build a robot, and we are trying to decide if we should go with the HB, or make something else. I know (...)
