  Re: 1999 NL sets 4533, 4553, 4556, 4557

(...) Agreed. I'd characterise it as a suspension bridge, though, as I saw no sign of a mechanism. The plate is being unloaded from the truck by hand. I have no idea what the fig on the top is doing, though. Perhaps he's a vandal, getting ready to (...) (26 years ago, 5-Jan-99, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Info on Gears and Building

(...) I got this when it first surfaced. Highly recommended. I'd say it has saved me 30% of my fiddle time when doing mechanisms. Since I'm not mechanical, that's pretty significant. (26 years ago, 5-Jan-99, to lugnet.build)

I'm actually quite amenable to splits, because Tood, or his software(1), has a habit of putting sure to be hot pieces into single lots so that bidders go for them instead of several lots so everyone gets some.   5 Unit articulated container car

As promised... Tail end of Containers page now has a few snaps of my 5 unit articulated container car. This baby is huge. This one car goes all the way around a semi circle of track with some spillover. 12 axles, 6 bogies/trucks, 10 articulation (...) (26 years ago, 6-Jan-99, to lugnet.trains)

(...) redo (...) When I said articulated, I mean that the body itself is hinged (ala 4551 or Eric Brok's green Croc), not that there are hinges or joints in the wheels.
