  Re: AUSTRIAN RAIL CAR

(...) US practice as well. Other terms for such a beast are Doodlebug and RDC. (Rail Diesel Car), both of which originally referred to the products of a specific firm. The notion is that one of these units can take the place of a whole train, (...) (26 years ago, 7-Feb-99, to lugnet.trains)

  Purism (was Re: Train "tyres"

(...) I find my purism wavering enough to accept this, especially since TLG doesn't make fresh spares (rubber DOES age, even in the package). I've been to ones where it's just food and talk, and I've been to ones where people displayed their creations and brought trade goods, etc., and I know Minx hosted a quite elaborate one at her house with games and contests and stuff. Forgot to give location: CTP is at 304 Vassar, right across from the Cambridge Hyatt. Not too far from Harvard Sq. and Kendall Sq. red line T stops, but not within walking distance of them. I'm thinking Monday 22 Feb?? ++Lar (26 years ago, 8-Feb-99, to lugnet.loc.us.ma.bos)
