  LSC Proposal 0.99

I think it's time to post the 0.99 draft of the LSC proposal. I've pasted it below with mo revision marks. You can see an HTML document _with_ revision marks here: (URL) think we're 99% of the way there to having a final draft - and if there are no (...) Recap of our two weekends of "A Day Out with Thomas" at the Minnesota Transportation Museum's Jackson Street Roundhouse. ((URL) days, several thousand visitors, a LOT of them being kids. We had a pretty good time! The new town layout looks good (...) (21 years ago, 5-May-03, to lugnet.trains)

I do not believe that Alpha Team is at the same level as .town or .pirates. (mostly from (...) (22 years ago, 8-Jan-03, to lugnet.admin.nntp)

(...) Do you have a source for that assertion? It's been my observation with low noses that they tend to operate short hood first when on lead. It would be a rare road that operated a low nose long hood first as general practice, unless they got it (...) (22 years ago, 6-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains)

(...) Definitely. I bet you could even find a prototype for it somewhere if you hunted hard enough. Perhaps body mounted rather than truck mounted would be necessary to avoid somewhat silly looking trucks, though. (...) Yep. They're called unit (...) (22 years ago, 6-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: A great show

(...) Hehe, that's my fault. I was the guy who answered his questions, and I told him a couple or 3 times that he needed to make sure to honor the LEGO(r) trademark, but only once about pluralization. I guess he forgot the part where I said "on (...) (22 years ago, 6-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains.org)

Re: Round parts on the side of ... (was Re: LEGO SW Haildire Droid will cost....

(...) Right. Has to be else you have to decouple. However if the guestimated height someone posted elsewhere in the thread is correct it will be plenty high for 6 wide trains. 8 widers might be out of luck though. (22 years ago, 6-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Round parts on the side of ... (was Re: LEGO SW Haildire Droid will cost....

(...) If it's round and made out of LEGO, it doesn't matter if the gear teeth mesh or not. The big problem with rotary dumps till now has been what is it that you rotate? till now nothing has been both large enough and round enough. Once you have (...) (22 years ago, 6-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains)

Re: Round parts on the side of ... (was Re: LEGO SW Haildire Droid will cost....

(...) No, I mean the thing they are clasping. Really, it's round, it's dark grey, it's the biggest part in the model. It has what appear to be ridges or gear teeth on its outside circumference. (22 years ago, 6-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains)

Round parts on the side of ... (was Re: LEGO SW Haildire Droid will cost....

(...) What is that big round thing on each side? Are those gear teeth? Do we maybe have what trainheads need to make a rotary dump without a lot of trouble? (22 years ago, 5-Jan-03, to lugnet.starwars, lugnet.trains)

(...) I've seen it modified into many other things... it's a good starting point, if a bit short, for many different cab/cowl units. MichLTC's Stefan Garcia made a nice ALCO FA using it as a starting point, for instance. (22 years ago, 5-Jan-03, to lugnet.trains)
