  Re: BrickWorld 2007 - who's getting paid?

(...) I have been informed by the event coordinators that BrickWorld is a for-profit event owned by Bryan Bonahoom and Adam Tucker, and that they would control any potential profits from the event. The statement quoted above is apparently incorrect. (...) (18 years ago, 15-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickworld, FTX)

  BrickFest PDX 2007 - who's getting paid?

According to (URL) Joe Meno's post>, last year's BrickFest brought in $13000 in profit for himself, as well as $3000 for Christina Hitchcock for use of the BrickFest name. Can the organizers of BrickFest PDX 2007 tell us who (if anyone) will be (...) (18 years ago, 13-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickfest, FTX) !!

  Re: BrickWorld 2007 - who's getting paid?

(...) There isn't anything wrong with either a for-profit or non-profit AFOL event. Any of these answers are perfectly fine: John Smith will be profiting from this event. Corporation X, LLC will be profiting from this event. This is a non-profit (...) (18 years ago, 15-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickworld, FTX)

Re: Talk me into Bley at BrickFest

(...) As Matthew said, I don't think the color change was a major factor in TLC's business problems. It certainly changed my buying habits, but I'm a minority of a minority among LEGO buyers. On the other hand, the color change needlessly (...) (18 years ago, 18-Mar-07, to lugnet.color, FTX)

  Re: BrickWorld 2007 - who's getting paid?

(...) I won't rehash all of the arguments here. There are many reasons why people treat non-profit and for-profit entities differently - many were discussed in (URL) this thread> about BF '06. (...) Calling for volunteers does give the impression something is a non-profit, yes. (...) So you're saying volunteers shouldn't be compensated, right? I agree with you there, I just think it should apply to all volunteers involved in an event. (...) (18 years ago, 15-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickworld, FTX)

  BrickWorld 2007 - who's getting paid?

  Re: What was the question?

(...) The question was: who, if anyone, will be profiting from this event. I started with the assumption that no one would be profiting, since I was going by David's message. After reading Bryan's email, I thought he was saying that he and Adam (...) (18 years ago, 18-Mar-07, to lugnet.events.brickworld, FTX)
