Re: Lego called Racist - "Boycott Legos [sic]"

(...) I think the official line is that anytime something is licensed, then the flesh-colored figures can be used. If you look at the Ferrari sets, the crew is yellow, but Barichello and Shumacher are flesh-colored. Spider-Man, Harry Potter, and (...) (22 years ago, 25-Jan-05, to lugnet.mediawatch, FTX)

Re: Lego called Racist - "Boycott Legos [sic]"

(...) The column has some good points. Too bad it suffers from lazy journalism. Like describing traditional minifigs as "aryan yellow". Aryan. Yellow. Yeah, right. And the columnist missed out on some other good discussion points: 1. Lego has (...) (22 years ago, 25-Jan-05, to lugnet.mediawatch, FTX)

Re: An alternative open letter to the CEO of the LEGO Company

I agree with this letter. The new greys will NOT change my buying behaviour (up to US$3000 a year - for me, my child and our friends' children). What does affect my buying behaviour is the quality of the great new Designer sets (me) and the good (...) (22 years ago, 20-Jan-05, to lugnet.color, lugnet.dear-lego)

Ooooh! :( What a pessimistic AFOL you are, William! (...) Yes, they're trying to grow a segment of their market. That gives "us" influence as customers, little as it may be. Did we get SYSTEM-color packs with gray plates and bricks through Jake, or (...) (22 years ago, 20-Jan-05, to lugnet.color, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Open letter to the CEO of the LEGO Company / Call for your signs! (no discussions here please)

I disagree with most of this letter. Yes, it makes sorting harder. Yes, The Lego Group underestimated how upset some people would be (as I was!). But assuming your focus group work on colours was valid, neither of the above reasons is good enough to (...) (22 years ago, 19-Jan-05, to lugnet.color, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: An alternative open letter to the CEO of the LEGO Company

(...) Was that changed back because of a letter to the CEO sent by a member of LUGNET? I'm sorry I must have missed that one. Yeah, changing DUPLO was a mistake, and they changed it back. But that was the kind of mistake that affects their core (...) (22 years ago, 20-Jan-05, to lugnet.color, lugnet.dear-lego)

I agree with the general intent of this letter and I don't care for minor mistakes caused by translation or for minor differences of opinions. René Hoffmeister (D); pre-2004: $3000 p.a.; 2004: $78 (DUPLO Castle) (22 years ago, 19-Jan-05, to lugnet.color, lugnet.dear-lego)
