Re: New Images of 2006 Trains

(...) Presumably you could make something like an articlated lorry, with the motor in the cab and the baseplate for the trailer. If you fitted an anti-jack-knifing mechanism you could get some control through reverse steering too. Then again, you (...) (19 years ago, 22-Feb-06, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

  Re: EV3

Did anyone answer this for you? I am not an expert by any means but here’s my opinion. No and Yes (maybe). As it comes in the box there is not a power jack so… No. If you buy the battery pack and charger, you could theoretically have it plugged in (...) (10 years ago, 5-Dec-14, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: looking for RCX v1.0

Thanks to everyone who offered to get or look for sets. The best solution of all came from Ralph H. who suggested I call Spectrum (in Aurora) 905-841-0600 After saving all my pennies I discovered that I had most of the $360 I needed to buy a RIS (...) It has far too many difficult issues for them to use it. If we (...) (24 years ago, 6-Dec-00, to lugnet.lego.direct)

Chris - I can double-check for you that these are v1.0, if you want to tell me how to tell from the box - should I look for pictures of the jack? Are there stickers? If you like, I can pick one up for you, too. Jeff (...) (24 years ago, 26-Jul-00, to lugnet.loc.ca.on.tor)

  I ordered a 1.5 and was sent a 1.0 Good or Bad?

I ordered a RIS 1.5 and recieved a 1.0. Should I be happy? I know the 1.0 has a jack for an external power supply. Also the firmware can be updated. So is there a downside to having been sent a 1.0 RIS? Thanks! Andy (24 years ago, 12-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: IR Collision avoidance

The Handyboard has a circuit (U7a, R4, C6) that generates a 38KHz signal. That drives an amplifier that then goes to J7, the IR LED output. If you hookup an IR LED to this jack (with a series resistor) then when you turn on TOC2 using ir_xmit_on() (...) (28 years ago, 24-Feb-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
