Pics, if you are interested, of my robot JACK

If you are interested, I finally figured out my mistake in uploading to brickshelf.com. The pics were taken with a webcam, so the quality of the pictures is nothing to brag about. Anyway, the link is: (URL) you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail - 50x more storage (...) (20 years ago, 20-Sep-04, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Pure Energy & the RCX

No, you all missed the point. Jack was talking about the idea of LEGO(r) providing an external NiCad battery pack solution to certain perceived problem (the difficulty of taking a robot apart in order to change the batteries in an RCX, Scout, etc.).   FS: RCXs

I have a few RCXs that I would like to sell. They are slightly used but in good condition. All are marked RCX 1.0, although some have the AC adapter jack, and some do not. Please email me if interested. I am asking $50.00 USD each for the RCXs with (...) (24 years ago, 1-May-00, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

(...) Try BrickLink: (URL) of the differences: RIS v1.0 has an RCX w/external power jack that many find useful and includes a serial IR tower. v1.5 RCX (also stamped v1.0) has no external power jack; the set also includes a serial IR tower. v2.0 has (...)   RCX 1.0 Power Jack/AC Adapter Question

I just snagged another 4561Railway Express. I believe I recall reading that the AC adapter in that will work with my RCX 1.0. Can anyone confirm this? Thanks, Thomas (24 years ago, 21-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

(...) Thanks Ralph. I took pictures of the jack and the adapter and posted them at the end of the picture set: (URL) jack says "9-12V" next to it.   Re: Batteries again, sorry

you're almost right. if you plugged a nimh pack into the HB's charge jack, the external pack would charge the internal batteries. but it would not power the board significantly. this is because the HB's charge jack includes a current-limit resistor (...)   Re: RIS parts questions

(...) The RCX 1.0 in RIS 1.0 has a jack, the RCX 1.0 in RIS 1.5 doesn't (unfortunately, I have two of them). The 2.0 on the RCX 2.0 is purely for decoration, there's no user visible difference whatsoever to the RCX 1.0 without the jack.
