  Re: GMLTC layout 'show' pictures

(...) Nothing that complicated - we used our regular tables (40"x60"), Conan threw together some simple plywood boxes to get up to track height on each end of the layout. (16+ bricks on the low end, 24+ bricks on the high end.) We put a simple loop (...) (23 years ago, 19-Oct-01, to lugnet.trains.org)

(...) Looks great. A couple of the buildings are just incredible. The brickmania building with the almost curved roof! The grey and sand red building next to it, the beautiful and expansive train station. Wow! I wish I could see all this in person. (...) (23 years ago, 17-Oct-01, to lugnet.trains)

  Re: My point.

(...) Heck, I wasn't especially impressed by the little teaser...but then again, it's getting harder and harder to impress me with all the great stuff that people have built to compare to. It was the rude and un-called-for way in which you stated (...) (24 years ago, 18-Oct-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  why the bad attitude?

(...) Words from someone who has been eating too much humble pie? (cough) (...) I must be missing something -- all I saw that Jude said in his announcement was, "I left you a little teaser for now." (...) <snip> Ouch!!! That is far from what the page is gonna look like. I just wanted to get a buzz going. I did not want to invest much time in the layout of a page with a simple preview picture (the little teaser). BTW, are you afraid of yellow or (...) (24 years ago, 17-Oct-00, to lugnet.space)

Re: Trees: how to build them?

(...) GMLTC has access to something like 2 million + bricks... they use *everything* for filler. (and it kills me, too.) :) thanks, James (23 years ago, 19-Oct-01, to lugnet.build)

  Re: what makes a legend?

(...) Oh my, such a simple question, but with so many complicated ways to answer! This is like asking 'what makes a good wine', or 'what makes a good movie'... Good pieces, sure - but not everyone buys a set just for the pieces. Some people buys (...) (23 years ago, 21-Oct-01, to lugnet.lego.direct)

(...) Here are a couple that I built for the new GMLTC layout: (URL) two sizes of "multi-node leaf things" (good term, Amy!) are just stacked on a piece of Technic flex tubing, and the tubing is stuck into the center of a brown 2x2 round brick. Yesterday I promised more pictures of the GMLTC layout, here they are.   any AFOLs in the Minot area?

The GMLTC is looking for a few good AFOLs to help us out next week at Hostfest. We were planning on being there with 8 GMLTC members, but due to various problems we might be down to only 4. We'd love to find a few people willing to help us out with (...) (23 years ago, 4-Oct-01, to lugnet.loc.us.nd)
