Re: 5956 airship + other 1999 stuff in the UK

Stickers are a big foul in my Lego collection. I give them to my 5yr old for his Legos. Using them kinda ruins pieces for further ideas b/c they may not match the theme you are trying to create. I don't know... This is just my feelings on stickers. (...) (26 years ago, 27-Dec-98, to lugnet.general)

  Pitsco Catalog

I'm severly disapointed with Pitsco... I recieved their catalog today and there is NOTHING in it for Robolab or Mindstorms, not even a mention of it in the 150+ pages. Is this just my imagination or did they leave something out? (26 years ago, 5-Jan-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: New Collaborative website for Lego Robotics

It's good not to be on the mailing list just for that reason... I read everything ONCE here on OutLookExpress, altho it did take a novice like me a while to get everything going so I can make the most use out of this somewhat infantile software. (...) (26 years ago, 5-Jan-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Pneumatic Tanks

Try using a Coke bottle w/small brass fitting siliconed in the cap. Secure it to the robot (invention) w/rubber bands for easy removal. It takes a while to fill it but that's a lot of air for use. Good luck. (26 years ago, 5-Jan-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Yup... I got the wrong one, now that you mention it. I found this one on catalogcity.com. In the very near future there will be a call placed to get the real catalog that I thought I was getting. There are lots of interesting robotics related stuff (...) (26 years ago, 6-Jan-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  RcxCC Joystick controls

Is there any way to make the joystick control of RcxCC2.0 work with just 1 motor. Some of us havn't had the $$$ to get a 3rd motor just yet. Even if I did have a 3rd, I'd use it for extra speed or some other gilley-friggy-thingy not yet thought of. (26 years ago, 7-Jan-99, to lugnet.robotics)

On my Mindstorms page there is a program that uses the Mindstorms software to steer. Touch sensors turn on the steering motor at power level 1 or 2 (I don't remember which) for 2/10ths of a second per press. It takes 2 taps of the right button to go (...) Most cool... I'm depressed that I didn't even think of trying all the buttons. I'm a button and flashy lights kinda person, the more... The happier!!! Thanks for showing me the errors of my ways. Hey works.... Now back to the topic of Legos. Tupperware type bins have always been a fav of mine. Had to add about 7 new ones since X-mass. The Lego Santa was VERY nice to me ;) (26 years ago, 7-Jan-99, to lugnet.storage)

Ahh... So you are the man behind the Lego Stratos. Bravo, Bravo (Or to stick to the Fiat/Lancia thing... Brava. Hehehe) I do have one small request if you like making exotic cars... Try the Lancia Zaggato or Scorpion. I'd do it but I lack quite a (...) (26 years ago, 8-Jan-99, to lugnet.storage)

Well.... Is AOL a real ISP? It's slow and I do prefer to use OutLook Express. Much faster and a better interface for seeing it the way I like it. (26 years ago, 9-Jan-99, to lugnet.off-topic.fun)

  Mindstorms in the news again...

This is from Friday's news... "Toys of Tomorrow" (URL) a lengthy url but worth reading the page. The page that precedes this in the article is about those lame Barney thingys as being intelligent for children. IMHO Mindstorms is a far better (...) (26 years ago, 9-Jan-99, to lugnet.robotics)

I agree that TLG is spreading itself too thin. The CD games are marginable from what I've read about problems installing and playing them. Z-Nap is a flailing attempt to debunk Kinex (something they have always wanted to do). TLG should just stick (...) (26 years ago, 12-Jan-99, to lugnet.general)
