Re: Is Expansion Board Servo Voltage Suppose to Be 9v

Make sure you measure the voltage under load. Without a load the diodes won't look like they're dropping anything. Fred (...) (23 years ago, 15-Aug-01, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Re: Is Expansion Board Servo Voltage Suppose to Be 9v

Do you have the dropping 2n540x diodes in place? they should drop the 9.6v batt to the 5-6v servo voltage. Fred (...) (23 years ago, 15-Aug-01, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Re: LEGO Company Welcomes Adult LEGO Enthusiasts

(...) So, in other words, "yes". 1) Fred decides Fred likes your design, and would like to have it in his train layout, in his basement. Fred has an extensive LEGO collection already, though, and has all the parts he needs. 2) Fred sits down with a (...) (24 years ago, 7-Dec-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

  Re: Just a question

(...) By "here" do you mean the .robotics.handyboard group/list or do you mean _here_ (the .market.buy-sell-trade group)? Questions about the Handy Board list are probably best addressed to Fred Martin -- (URL) fredm@media.mit.edu --Todd (24 years ago, 9-Aug-00, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

  Talking Points

These comments were heard from comments from adult train enthusiasts who visited our display, and might make for good talking point, or maybe be incorporated into another handout flyer... There has got to be some more whimsey in this hobby. (We (...) (24 years ago, 7-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

Public Thank You for our NMRA show supporters

I know I can't name everyone, but I'm going to shoot for 80%, and count on others to chip in with the rest of the names. Module Builders (OK, so we didn't get to use them this time, but a bunch of folks tried to help make it happen, and that's (...) (24 years ago, 8-Aug-00, to lugnet.loc.us.ca.sf)

  Booth monitors (look and feel)

Tom McDonald reminds me of another point; When you are in the middle of a layout, folks presume that you are in charge...but when you are on the outside, it is easy for visitors to think other club members are 'just visitors' when we're all dressed (...)   Re: Newton Labs Not releasing PCODE source for 3.1 -> Fred Help!

Whew. I have encountered the same problem back when I wanted the improved PWM code in the new version of IC. Back then (about 2 years ago) I managed to find someone who actually had a copy of the 3.1 pcode. Don't ask me for it, I lost it long ago. (...)   Newton Labs Not releasing PCODE source for 3.1 -> Fred Help!

George Musser brought up a very good issue! Where the heck is pcode_hb.asm? This code was released in ver 2.86 and enhancements were made to the pcode from the user base. Newton Labs has tunnel vision and NO CLUE to how open source software can (...) (24 years ago, 6-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

Fred, Thanks for the tip. You're right - it is printed on the board itself. I found it as soon as I put on my glasses. :-) Steve Mosiman (24 years ago, 26-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

This answer is for american practice, rather than european (where cabooses per se were not at all common, although brakevans *were* used)... note that early canadian writings may refer to a caboose as a brakevan.   Robot Program for Rover so far...

  Encoders, what are you using?

Hi, My homebrew quad hall effect encoder works, I'm learning from it. I get @ 1/4" resolution so there's plenty of slop. I can have the robot pace back and forth on a straight track for 6 passes or so then I start to veer off track. So I guess it's (...) (24 years ago, 10-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
