(...) Actually, is there any reason (other than guidelines developed based on symmetry) to orient the hat so the feather hole is in front? Just thought I'd let people know I'm working on this (as Franklin Cain and Paul Easter have known for a while, amongst others). Since undertaking this part I've realised how much work goes into authoring a patterned part - you can't just slap the (...) (24 years ago, 15-Jan-01, to lugnet.cad)

I've managed to get a little more done thanks to Paul Easter - my VB app now interfaces to his trig.xls spreadsheet to calculate the Z co-ords for points given the X and Y and 3 vertices of the polygon on which the point sits. I could have put the (...) (24 years ago, 18-Jan-01, to lugnet.cad)

Just a quick question or two on the Imperial Shuttle: 1) Is the Emperor's torso the same as Darth Maul's or Jedi Luke's? 2) Do the Guards have printed torsoes or are they just plain red? 3) What is the design on the Pilot's torso?   Matte Spray on Minifig Heads?
 
Speaking of fixing minifigs, I've thought about taking some flat black acryllic paint, using a 000 brush to paint on those fading eyes and mouths, then coating 'em with a quick spray of matte finish (like Krylon). While I've not tried it myself (on Lego anyway), I should think that if you kept your distance while spraying so that the clearcoat was nearly dry by the time it hit the ABS surface, you should be fine.
