  New contest: Was Design

Peter, Everyone interested. The thread (fractured as it was) was getting a bit long to quote everyone, so I thought I'd start this new one. Yes, Peter, I agree with 99% of all that you have stated. I think the 'boys' toy model works, even if only (...) (19 years ago, 4-Dec-05, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) I can think of one field where autonomous robot-like, pseudo-AI is alive & kicking, and making tons of money. One word: videogames. It meets the needs you suggested ~IF~ you install it under a brickCC GUI As a big fan of Mindscript, and the guy who programmed a Project X robot with 64 nested if's, I'd say that (...)   Two posters of Ben's models

Hi all, For those who visit my site now and then or recieve the newsletter (subscribe!) this is not new: there are two new posters of 2 steam train models made by Reinhard Beneke; the BR24 and BR50. Hopefully he has time to convert more of his fine (...) (21 years ago, 5-Nov-03, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.cad.ray, lugnet.announce)

  Re: motor in set 727

(...) Hello Niels, since set 702 has been nearly the same as 103 (which ran out in 1975), and since 727 got launched in 1977, I think it is not to probable that a 702 has been sold within that set. But TLC has often used up old "spares" in newer (...) (21 years ago, 16-Sep-03, to lugnet.trains, FTX)

Re: What I think should happen to Mindstorms.

I would love to have electronically operated valves to integrate with the RIS. It is the one thing that would really make Lego pneumatics more viable to me. (...) I think some automation of the pneumatic parts would be a good step. For example an RCX-controled switch would be a very welcome addition.   What I think should happen to Mindstorms.

I think they should NOT make a new RCX. They should take the existing RCX brick. And the existing IR tower. And the existing electrical bits (sensors and motors). New sensors would be nice but would have a high initial R&D/setup-for-manufacturing (...) (19 years ago, 30-Nov-05, to lugnet.robotics, lugnet.dear-lego)
