| | Re: 12v motor in 9v trains - how?
| (...) Hi Mike, it took maybe 3 hours to convert the first motor. Then I did 2 at a time and needed less than 2 hours to convert 2 motors. An that included all works: making the connecting bushes, opening the housing, drill the needed holes etc. That (...) (22 years ago, 2-Apr-03, to lugnet.trains)

| | Load Capacitance of the 8MHz crystal?

| Salutations, all, I'm putting together a couple boards, and Mouser has (unfortunately) discontinued the part number listed in the parts list. There are, however, several 8MHz crystals of an appropriate size in the catalog, but I don't have an old (...) (27 years ago, 23-Jul-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

| Hey there, sorry I forgot to mention a few things to you: Digikey stocks the Optrex LCDs, they're about $12/ea, and since you're probably ordering from them anyway, it's no problem. The difference between the B and UB versions, I think, is that the (...) (27 years ago, 29-Jul-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)

| | Voltage problem?
| Salutations all, I've got two serial charger boards that are behaving starngely... At the end of the second assembly stage, after installing the MAX232, I get what appears to be an improper voltage when the 232's pin 10 is tied to -10 volts. Here's (...) | | Re: Voltage problem
| Well, further experimentation revealed that the chips are working, but with a quirk: If the the input of the '232 (pin 10) is tied to ground (pin 15), then the output (pin 7 of the '232, or pin 3 of J9) goes to the expected value of ~+10 volts. If, (...) (27 years ago, 1-Aug-97, to lugnet.robotics.handyboard)
