Hey there, sorry I forgot to mention a few things to you:
Digikey stocks the Optrex LCDs, they're about $12/ea, and since you're probably ordering
from them anyway, it's no problem. The difference between the B and UB versions, I think,
is that the UB version is designed to be viewed at a different angle --- the digikey catalog
has some cryptic notes, and that's the impression I got.
Newark Electronics (www.newark.com) stocks a lot of the hard to find pieces, in
particular: L293D's, SN754410's (the other motor driver option), and the
DS-1233-10's.
Marshall Electronics (www.marshall.com) has the IS1U60's; you may also be able to
convince them to give you a sample, instead of ordering them.
You can also order the 68HC11A1 from Jameco, the suggested seller of the 32k memory and the
MAX232; incidentally, Jameco has better prices for the other IC's as well.
Hope this helps,
Owen

| (...) If anyone is having trouble finding the DS-1233-10's, I might be able to help. I have had to order 5 of them to get the one I need so I would be willing to either send them to others at my cost or preferably to trade at least one of them for (...)
