  Re: studless construction practice

(...) Kind of a newbie question: Is there a trend toward studless in more than just Mindstorms? If so, is the thought that it is mostly because of expiring patents or are there other reasons. If we're going to look for studless practice, are there (...) (19 years ago, 14-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: How many people signed up for the NXT Developer's Program?

(...) I'm wondering what it means to be "something like LabView". Robolab is something like LabView, but it isn't LabView. It is a GUI application written in G running in the LabView runtime engine. LabView itself (i.e., the editor and the (...) (19 years ago, 18-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Process Control with RCX

Using RCX bricks and RoboLab 2.94, in many ways is like being stranded on Mars and this is all there is, which is everything. There is plenty of time until the next spaceship arrives since contacting Earth depends on making this software and (...) (7 years ago, 7-Apr-17, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: connecting 2 nxt bricks, low-tech

(...) Well, RCXs have been interconnected via input and output ports (or even input to input ports), so I think it's likely. But if we have Bluetooth (faster, more secure, doesn't require a physical connection, and address multiple objects), why not (...) (19 years ago, 11-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Thoughts on Battery-powered IR-controlled trains

(...) Who makes people believe that old stuff is obsolete as soon as a successor becomes available? To stay ontopic in this .trains area, I'm still using blue tracks and motors and remote controled points (yes blue points!). Still working (...) (19 years ago, 13-Jan-06, to lugnet.trains)

Great little FOTD: Yellow Castle sticker!

Hey all, This actually happened last week, but I'm still smiling over it. My local consignment shop often has $25 to $30 bags of used Lego in Ziploc bags, most of which I pass on now because my collection is pretty solid and I still have much (...) (19 years ago, 15-Jan-06, to lugnet.castle)

  Re: Moduli x diorama 2006

(...) A parte gli scherzi, le strade di bricks sono impegnative. Più che nere le avrei preferite dark blay che costa meno del nero e si trova ora con una certa facilità, nonché da un realismo maggiore (l'asfalto nero è raro da vedersi). Naturalmente (...)   Re: how odd!!!!

(...) The uncolored bricks might be transparent bricks that have been very badly yellowed. I have some that are almost that bad. Note that these appear to be very old bricks, due to the mold release point on the ends of the bricks. --Bill. (21 years ago, 8-May-03, to lugnet.general)

  Re: mindstorms NXT

(...) You can connect some technic bricks to the sides and have studded bricks very easily. Studless design allows you to access the batteries, display, and buttons much easier. Also technic connection are significantly stronger than the old (...) (19 years ago, 5-Jan-06, to lugnet.robotics, FTX)

New Trains and BBB Wheels? (was: Re: Still more)

(...) Good question. I'm eager to order a set and find out how BBB wheels will do with the new battery powered trains. I've tried BBB wheels with the 845 motor: (URL) Which easily accepts a technic axle. With large BBB drivers, at 9V the speed is a (...)
