  Diary of a sorting man

The last few weeks I've been sorting. In a bad way. Before rtlToronto9, I started sorting out pieces. It made Technic building so easy, especially to get what you needed when you were trying to assemble something you had in mind. It also made (...)   HoMa's Big Boy

Hi folks, after nearly 12 month of moc-abstinence I started off again and finished my 8-wide model of the Union Pacific Big Boy! I wanted to use the old spoked wheels and the 1/4 panels from droid escape for the boiler. See what it is like at: (URL) (...) (22 years ago, 27-Jan-03, to lugnet.announce) !!

One of those strange idea nights

I was in a strange mood last night and felt like doing something silly (I think it was all the brownies I ate). So after seeing an old picture of the (URL) Johnson Controls project SUV> I copied thier idea of putting LEGO bricks as (URL) value stem (...) (21 years ago, 2-Apr-04, to lugnet.general, FTX)

NO more trees and flowers :(

I just ordered some stuff today from S@H Canada and was distressed to find that there is no longer a trees, flowers and fences set. And more than half the stuff I wanted is backordered... red and black roof bricks, hats and wigs, roadsigns AND the (...) (26 years ago, 27-Mar-99, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Star Wars sets are a dream come true

A couple of weeks ago, my dad passed on some old pictures of our family when we were kids. Many of the photos show me playing with Lego (it's all I really did as a kid) One picture shows me with a model of an X-wing made out of Lego. The year was (...)   New mold for classic windscreen (part # 3939)!

Hey all, Bought a copy of #4939 Cool Cars yesterday for all the 1x1 angled bricks in yellow, black, and trans-black/smoke and I was very surprised to see that the mold for this classic piece has been changed! Was more surprised to find that after (...) (18 years ago, 17-Mar-07, to lugnet.general, lugnet.parts)

  Next BUG meet Trades

Hi all, I'll be (hopefully) a new member for the BUGs and just want to let it be known that I have a few really OLD minifigs (circa 1986-1992) that include town (firemen?), train and space minifigs if anyone wants them. I'll most likely want to (...) (22 years ago, 12-Jul-02, to lugnet.loc.au.qld.bri)

  Re: gender changers?

(...) I think so too, but even so, TLG hasn't departed from their module... The loop on the old version was narrow enough that if you put a 1x1 tile on each side, the resulting width was exactly the same as a 1x brick in width.... the new version (...) (26 years ago, 13-Jan-99, to lugnet.build)

Re: new slope pieces wanted (was: Re: What set has black roof peak/gable?)

What I would like to see is something where we could build roofs of varying slope degree and have short pieces where we could build in a small attic study part, or something like that. The only problem I can see is it may well end up being a series (...) (24 years ago, 11-Nov-00, to lugnet.general, lugnet.lego.direct)

I'm Back.... (and some info on Counterfeit LEGO)

Folks, I'm back. I want to thank all of you who sent me personal condolences. My father is now no longer suffering, so we are happy for that. The rest of the family is doing fine. Thanks again, Gary And now back to LEGO (or else Todd is gonna gig (...) (25 years ago, 22-Jun-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: New Train Cars and Locos

(...) Oops, my bad. I didn't know that box cars came extra tall. I don't think you could make it any shorter and call it a highcube. It looks like is is 8 bricks and 1 plate tall (counting the 2 plate tall baseplate). A standard LEGO box car with (...) (24 years ago, 29-Nov-00, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.trains.org.wamaltc)

Re: LEGO Bloopers and Practical Jokes

I was thinking more along the lines of image bloopers rather than text bloopers. One example is the instructions for the Mercury II Transport which has a curious "error" in one of the final steps. Another example is a wrongly (1) assembled #6378 (...) (25 years ago, 25-Jun-99, to lugnet.general)

  Mystery lighthouse model

  200 white 2x4's for 200 blue 2x4's?

I haven't done much trading so I don't know if this is a normal request. The 200 2x4's I have range from blue tub new to child hood old. The majority look fine but there are of course some discolored pieces. All are smoke free of course. There's (...) (24 years ago, 21-Oct-00, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)
