  Re: Large 48x48 gray baseplates

(...) Yes, they are being produced in the new grey. I received two baseplates in a recent S@H order, and they are the new grey. A fact I didn't realize until today, when I visited the Potomac Mills outlet store. They just got Pick-a-Brick (although (...) (20 years ago, 17-Jul-04, to lugnet.color)

  Re: Unknown Japanese LEGO Sets...

Wow, I stop by Lugnet to do a little ancient research and there is life! My old buddies are here, Gary and Larry! And not only that, there are stories of long lost sets coming to light - just like the old days... OK, Gary, while I have your ear... (...) (11 years ago, 11-Apr-13, to lugnet.general)

The first Lego color change of 1962-70

Well I see that the color change of 2004 has generated some strong emotions... The first color change (of modern Lego starting in 1957) was that of 1962-70. TLG replaced Cellulose Acetate with ABS Plastic, and in doing so the colors red, yellow and (...) (20 years ago, 15-Jul-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.color)

  Re: Noobie Asks Questions

(...) Hi Andrew, I think it's neat that you're going to be building pirate ships! I'm not sure if they will be the "flying" type or the ordinary, "water" types, though :) If you're building the "flying" type, I wouldn't bother building hulls out of (...) (...) I'd be genuinely curious to see some specific uses where you feel this to be the case. I'm one of those people who mostly just uses the old-style TECHNIC bricks when I want TECHNIC features in a standard brick construction (like Moonbase (...)   My quick video as to why I'm a fan of LEGO, not a fan of generic building bricks...

I've been demonstrating this to people for years to show why I'm a fan of LEGO bricks, instead of the knock offs. Finally put it to video-- (URL) only 25 seconds so please enjoy! Dave K (11 years ago, 17-Mar-14, to lugnet.general) !

My letter to Lego, and it could be yours too!

Dear Lego Company, I am writing to you with sad news on my part. I have been a huge fan of your product ever since my parents brought home the Enviro-Model #585 Police Headquarters back in 1976. For almost thirty years, Lego has been my primary (...) (20 years ago, 18-Jul-04, to lugnet.dear-lego)

My letter to Lego, and it could be yours too!

Hey all, Well, after setting the roof on fire with my last post, I thought I'd try to pour a little water on the flames by collecting my thoughts together into a letter to the company. (...) Not true. I've been collecting since the days of the maxifigs and non-articulated minifigs. Yes, I've found a new degree of freedom in the BIONICLE series that wasn't present before, but I do still build with basic bricks. I've just never done (...)
