  Announcing the MOCC

My Own Castle Competition. We are hereby happy to announce the official castle-building competition for the Castle Room at BrickFest 2004. The competition is pretty straightforward, but a lot can be done with it. It is the hope of the BrickFest 2004 (...)   Re: Studless Truss Design?

(...) Tower Crane Boom is beam and pin only. (URL) uses multiple dimension connectors as it requires torsional stiffness. (URL) will need 'exotics' to connect dimensions. Thats how studless works best. The beams only have holes in one direction = (...) (16 years ago, 1-Mar-09, to lugnet.technic)

  Sorting

So I parted my first 2004 set into my collection. I'm trying to figure out how to sort out the new greys. Now it was a technic set, and I don't separate technic colours much anyway, but it got me thinking about the future. I discovered, when I threw (...)   Re: NGLTC club house at Discover Mills Mall this summer

(...) We (BayLUG/BayLTC) have talked to malls in our area and run into a brick wall when they say we need to have $1,000,000 in liability insurance. Since we're not incorporated or anything, there's no entity to buy such insurance. We've looked into (...) (21 years ago, 13-May-04, to lugnet.trains.org, lugnet.loc.us.ga, lugnet.org)

(...) Well, it's less subtle than your other poetry, but you're getting the hang of rhyme...;-) (...) Well, I like the FHS-17; that headlight-brick wall behind the 'seats'(1) is a nice application.   Re: A little math cioncerning ships, containers and Minifigs

(...) Excluding all internal supports and bracing, what we are really concerned about is surface area, since that's the brick we see. If an object is scaled up 2 times, its surface area goes up by a factor of 4. Thus, you would need, at minimum, 4 (...) (21 years ago, 19-May-04, to lugnet.lego)

Old part modified for strength, see it in 2004 Hogwarts Castle

Quick little note for part history hounds: I noticed that the interior of the brick known as "Slope Brick 65 2 x 2 x 2" has been given new strength. I do not recall this in any other set, but it's got triangles inside. The bracing extends as a (...) (21 years ago, 13-May-04, to lugnet.general)

(...) <snip> No, it shouldn't. I ran a survey just recently as part of my Year 11 Maths studies course (last year, i'm in year 12 now) which ascertained that if people are going to give up lego, they will do it at about 7-9 years of age. (...) A lot of it has to do with the image of the wall. Those core 2x4s and 2x2s are the basic LEGO bricks, and to give the wall a core look, the stores always have those on hand. It’s the rare pieces that tend to be rotated out on a bi-monthly (...) (21 years ago, 26-Apr-04, to lugnet.market.shopping)
