This method has been posted on Lugnet several times before--if you really have stubborn stains that won't come off, even with repeated washing, try using BRASSO polish solution (this is typically used to polish metals and can be acquired easily from (...) (...) It works well on: X-wing Cockpit, Insectoid wings, anything that isn't a slope. Slopes produce...interesting effects. They become smooth like any other piece. Your right, I have a few I bought for the kids that are different colors, but have printing on them. That's ok, a little Brasso and a coupla minutes and that is easily remedied.... (23 years ago, 2-Mar-02, to lugnet.trains)

  UCS Tie canopy looks great after Brasso'ing
 
The UCX Tie canopy has a bunch of cheezy printing all over that doesn't look realistic and forces you to use it exactly for that. I used Brasso to clean all that off and now it looks great!   New MOC: 1:18 scale BMW M5 Sedan
 
Ever since winning a pen at Brickswest two years ago, I've wanted to use the round segments in a MOC. Last semester, I finally got around to Brasso-ing off the letters. I also found a bunch of pictures of BMWs, the perfect car for a bunch of round (...)   Removing printing from slope bricks
 
My current project involves lots of blue 33deg slope bricks (3x4 and 3x2). Unfortunately, a substantial proportion of my collection is the decorated variety (from the Timmy set 4225 mostly).
