  Re: Turrets for Robowars

Rich: this looked real nice. I thought I was the only person melding the cyber cannon and the mindstorms. my first "trick' was to place all 4 in a line, then run a "camshaft" over the firing mech.. it was fun to watch them fire in sequence. then I (...)   Re: Star Wars Mindstorms = True

(...) This was always a known risk. If LEGO forces us to reverse engineer another product, I think instead the "classic RCX" will become a hot item. Hopefully LEGO will get a clue and release low-level interface documentation next time around. (...) (26 years ago, 9-Feb-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Robotics sub-groups

(...) lugnet.robotics.rcxfirmware is certainly more accurate and descriptive than just plain lugnet.robotics.rcx. But I think the 'rcxfirmware' component makes it a bit long, though, in terms of practical limitations on sub-group names -- for (...) (26 years ago, 5-Feb-99, to lugnet.admin.general)

  Re: NQC v. LegOS

(...) It isn't a patch for gcc -- the H8300 is a supported target. The only limitations are that the processor has 16-bit ints, which when you start to include traditional libc functions, can require some porting effort, as with other code that you (...)   Re: Firmware Problem

(...) Yes, the 'Firm0309.lgo' file is in the /firm directory in your Mindstorms folder. And you can use Dave Baum's Not Quite C (NQC) Compiler to download this file to your RCX. You can then either program using NQC or the Invention System. (URL) (...) (26 years ago, 24-Feb-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Re: Mindstorms vs. Cybermaster

(...) The programming environment of the RCX is more powerful, starting by the fact that you can replace the original firmware. Using the standard firmware, the RCX have about 10 times more memory than the CyberMaster. With the RCX you can also (...) (26 years ago, 19-Mar-99, to lugnet.robotics)

ANNOUNCE: nqce - a Java-based editor for NQC (Not Quite C)

ANNOUNCE: nqce - a Java-based editor for NQC (Not Quite C) Not Quite C is a simple language with a C-like syntax that can be used to program the LEGO RCX, the brick computer which forms the heart of LEGO Mindstorms.   RcxCC version 2.2 available

  Battery voltage available within NQC?
