  Ultimate ROBOLAB

Finally, there it is: We now have Ultimate ROBOLAB ready for beta-testing. Ultimate ROBOLAB is an extension to ROBOLAB that allows you to graphically write your own RCX firmware. Find an introduction at (URL) ROBOLAB254 If you are interested, please (...) (20 years ago, 8-Dec-04, to lugnet.robotics)

(20 years ago, 7-Jan-05, to lugnet.org.it.itlug)

  Re: NXT to NXT communication?

(...) John Barnes and others have been working on that. He has out a beta of a "Nxt Byte Code" (NBC) assembler, and he's dug into a *lot* of firmware and software details. See the following (& John's website) for more details. (URL) not as sure (...) (18 years ago, 4-May-06, to lugnet.robotics)

  BricxCC release news

I've uploaded a new test release of BricxCC which includes some enhancements in the NXT Explorer tool window as well as a few other minor upgrades. Downloading the NXT firmware from within BricxCC should work in this release (although it has not (...) (18 years ago, 13-Sep-06, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: Text languages for programming NXT?

(...) To the best of my knowledge, there isn't a version of Java for the NXT yet. Brian Bagnall could say for sure but I expect it won't be long before there is something like leJOS for the NXT. NBC is available for multiple platforms (Win32, Mac (...) (18 years ago, 4-Jan-07, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

Re: RIS version 1.5 coming this fall

(...) You know, I think I'm starting to get nervous about this 1.5 business. Let's say they do happen to ship a 1.0->1.5 software compatability upgrade. The first question that comes to my mind is: Is the upgrade reversible or irreversible? Any why (...) (25 years ago, 29-Jul-99, to lugnet.robotics)

sending a message from the RCX to the PC

hi, I want to end a message and/or acknowledgement from the RCX to the PC. I am not using BrickOS or the standard firmware. I am using a different software on the RCX. It doesnt have a function for the sending from the RCX, so I am trying to do (...) (21 years ago, 10-May-03, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: Robot intelligence

(...) If you use GCC to program your RCX, you have somewhere around 28K, which is enough memory for a lot of things. If you use anything based on the standard firmware, you have 32 registers and no way of doing indirect addressing. Things will be (...) (26 years ago, 16-Mar-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Re: What is RPM of Gear Motor???

Keep checking the math. I clocked the motor at 330 - 350 rpm. I used the rotation sensor driven directly by the motor. From analysis of the RCX firmware, the rotation sensor should be accurate to 1250 rpm, so I'm pretty confident of it being in the (...) (25 years ago, 6-Jul-99, to lugnet.robotics)

(...) Yep, you've got the parameters backwards. Try FFFF 0 timer_set. Also, I'm not sure about numbers above 0x8000...   Re: Datalog with NQC 2.2 a1

(...) The datalog appears to work fine, and you still have the same amount of program/datalog space. There was a ton of unused RAM in the older firmware, so Lego was able to pack a lot of new features in without reducing the user space. If you decide to use LegOS you won't be needing nor will you have the chance to use NQC because a RCX with LegOS loaded won't understand nor respond to any standard firmware commands.
