  Re: RCX 2.0 -- ideas.

(...) I have been able to change batteries without losing firmware or programs. Just line the new batteries up in the correct orientation, flip all the old ones out (it helps to have the +ve end such that your thumb goes to the larger gap there) and (...)   Reading sensors at equal intervals.

Is it possible (with the standard firmware) to read the RCX sensors (actually, ideally, to run any old subroutine) at equal intervals, ie like every 100ms or something? (I assume it must be, otherwise you couldn't measure speed with the angle (...) (25 years ago, 24-Apr-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  NQC or P-Brick script?

Hello! I just bough RIS1.5 and updated firmware to 0301.0326, so I guess it is essentially RIS2.0. I played around with the pscript and it seems to be pretty nice, but I also noticed that NQC beta release claims to support RIS2.0. So I was wandering (...)   Re: Communicatin between NQC and legOS

(...) The protocol used by the standard firmware (which is what NQC relies on) is described on these sites: (URL) opcode of interest is F7 (thats what gets sent as a transmitted message). The entire packet would look like this: 55 ff 00 f7 08 x ~x s (...) (24 years ago, 23-Sep-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

  Re: The datalog

Someone in RTL said the RCX firmware ver 2 could read the datalog too. I read your documentation first since I figured you would have added functionality to NQC for that. I didn't see it in NQC. Then I check LEGO's docs but didn't see it there (...) (24 years ago, 2-Oct-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx.nqc)

  Re: IR download broken

So what causes it to 'forget' the firmware. Doesn't it store it in Flash memory? Or does it require batteries to be installed all the time? Matt (24 years ago, 16-Nov-00, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)
