Re: 4X4 technic truck and Real Radio control.

(...) You could probably do that - but you'd have to write RCX software to decode the pulse-width modulated signals from the radio control system. If you can write good software then that might be possible with something like the LegOS firmware - (...) (23 years ago, 31-Mar-02, to lugnet.robotics)

  LegOS

Has anyone thought of building a true OS (or replacement firmware) based on LegOS? As I understand it, LegOS isn't actually an OS at all, but rather is a source code library. I guess that's the benefit of pbForth which is actually a true firmware (...) (25 years ago, 12-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

  Flash Write Cycles

Does anyone know how the NXT firmware handles writing program files into flash? If you re-flash a program with the same name, does it first erase the sectors that the old program was located in and then re-flash these sectors with the new program? (...)   Re: Text Based Programming for NXT - pbLua is Available

What is the method to load the pbLua firmware, preferably in OS X? It's a .bin file so NXT-G doesn't recognize it. I tried renaming it to a .rfw file and it succeeds but then gets stuck in samba click mode. Then I tried libnxt's fwflash, holding (...) (18 years ago, 19-Jan-07, to lugnet.robotics.nxt)

  RCX low-battery indicator problem

This is my first venture into lugnet.robotics, so excuse me if this has been asked and answered before (I normally frequent lugnet.cad). The RCX my son received for Christmas seems to have a problem with the low battery indicator - it comes on with (...) (24 years ago, 8-Jan-01, to lugnet.robotics.rcx)

Re: Wot no RCX power connector?

No, while the RCX is in an "off" state, the firmware is maintained via a trickle current (something like the CMOS registers in an personal computer) supplied by the batteries. When one removes the batteries, the firmware and any stored programs are (...) (25 years ago, 19-Oct-99, to lugnet.robotics)

Hi Alan, you *can* use RcxCC with the new firmware. RcxCC has not been updated so in its native mode it doesn't support the new version of NQC. But for effect of downward compatibility it has no problems in communicating to the new firmware through (...) (24 years ago, 26-Feb-01, to lugnet.robotics)

I just got Mindstorm set, and since I do not have a PC, NQC seemed like a great place to start. I tried Mac NQC and did not get very far downloading the RCX firmware.
