  Re: Old Lego colors

(...) Tore, It is quite possible that by the time LEGO made black bricks, they started producing the ABS plastic bricks. It's possible that maybe none of the black bricks were made of Cellulose Acetate, which warped over time. Even Cellulose (...) (25 years ago, 7-Jun-99, to lugnet.general)

Re: Question about old train set

(...) Yes the 3x3 (low sloped) corner yellow bricks did come in the 7740 (4 to a set). But I contacted the eBay seller of the bid (where there were 18 of these). He (living in Israel) works part time for TLG, and got these slopes in a special (...) (25 years ago, 7-Jun-99, to lugnet.trains, lugnet.general)

  Re: DACTA windows 9267

(...) Martyn, welcome back from the dark ages! My dark ages were from 1966-79, so I've been out for a while. Back in the mid 80's I needed 180 of the 2x2 yellow windows, so I ended up buying 90 copies of small basic set #517. At $3.99 per set, that (...) (25 years ago, 7-Jun-99, to lugnet.general)

(...) One thing to remember the Video tape format is different in the USA versus Europe. I found that out many years ago when I took a family video tape with me to my cousin in Germany. The tape went into their VCR OK, but it played garbage. From (...) (25 years ago, 10-Jun-99, to lugnet.general)

  Italian language LEGO sets...

Unlike some countries such as Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Germany, Italy has had very few LEGO sets over the years that were produced in the Italian language. When the first LEGO sets were sold in Italy back in 1958, TLG just started using the (...) (11 years ago, 18-Mar-14, to lugnet.general)

  Delay in trades/sales/inquiries.

Hi, I know that a few of you have been waiting for trades from me. Sorry for the delay. My dad's health has deteriorated lately, and he passed away yesterday. So I've been preoccupied. I'll clear up the backlog early next week. Thanks for being (...) (25 years ago, 17-Jun-99, to lugnet.general)

Gary Istok sent me more pictures...

You can find them on my site. Go to the bottom of the LEGO(tm) page and you will find two links. One sources from voyager/jeffK and the other sources from Xoom. Content should be identical. Problems to me via email please, I am about to submerge in (...) (26 years ago, 29-Oct-98, to lugnet.announce)

Re: ebay item, is it really...

(...) OK, a couple of things.... The originator of this eBay auction item, my German buddy Kurt Richter (KRMM) of Memmingen Germany is probably one of the most knowledgeable LEGO people in the world, especially when it comes to old sets. (...) The number of sets (old as well as new) that have the 16x32 are too numerous to mention. There are far fewer sets that have the 32x32 baseplates however. Gary Istok (25 years ago, 22-Jun-99, to lugnet.general)

Well I'm back now.... and Bill did a great job in answering in my absence (smirking profusely). (...) Kevin, if you travel from Munich to Jena, you will be traveling thru Franconia (Franken), the northern half of Bavaria. That is where I went on a buying spree back in the 1979-93 time frame and plundered the small toy stores there. If you're (...) (25 years ago, 22-Jun-99, to lugnet.general)

  Re: Lego Logo

(...) The metamorphosis of the LEGO logo always makes for an interesting discussion. The big logo change, however, happened back in 1973. If memory serves me correctly, this had something to do with TLG taking over LEGO in the USA from Samsonite. (...) (25 years ago, 23-Jun-99, to lugnet.general)

There is not a lot of demand for these doors. In my opinion they look too (...) (25 years ago, 28-Jun-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)
