Re: Have '87 Catalog with many alternate/different set names

(...) Hey Dave, I don't have that catalog, but I think I know what you have. You probably have a British or Australian Lego catalog. In the earlier days of Lego, most catalogs were printed in either Denmark or Germany. The "storey" and "centre" are (...) (19 years ago, 17-Aug-05, to lugnet.general)

Re: When will the Vikings raid the US?

(...) Hey Brendan, in an aside on your Biblical scenes, you should do one of the Vikings landing at England's Lindisfarne Island and pillaging the monastery in AD 883 (it shocked all of Christendom). You could show the surviving monks carrying off (...) (19 years ago, 21-Aug-05, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Re: Brick versions over the years

(...) Hey, sorry I usually don't hang around these here "parts". :-) Well you guys ask (and answered) some really tough questions.... In my (still!) upcoming Lego CD I will be discussing Lego parts mainly from 1949-80, although for some items I go (...) (19 years ago, 23-Aug-05, to lugnet.parts)

Re: Parts I like to see for real

(...) I remember that thread Allan, great thread! I especially liked your regular/low sloped concave corner brick. Yeah that 4x4 corner brick was pretty cool. It was introduced by TLG in November of 1954 (no tubes underneath), got tubes in 1958, and (...) (19 years ago, 24-Aug-05, to lugnet.parts, FTX)

Re: Brick versions over the years

(...) Dave, Part of the problem is that there are no easy answers. The overlap in different mold variations for elements is so mixed up, to almost render any year/type mold/part statistics meaningless. Here are a few examples: 1) Waffle bottom (...) (19 years ago, 28-Aug-05, to lugnet.parts)

Re: Box scans of 320 Twin Engine Plane

(...) Dave, Not surprised! There are a lot of "anomalies" to be found in 50's and 60's Lego. Some versions of the #236 Garage set show a garage with 1 1x6x2 (3 pane) window for the garage on the side of the box, and the end flaps show 3 1x2x1 (...) (19 years ago, 29-Aug-05, to lugnet.general)

  Lego Parts You Hate....

I didn't want to bury this thread under lugnet.parts.... so I put it in lugnet.general... We all have Lego parts that we really like..... But what parts don't you like at all.... what parts do you really dislike? (Yes I know it sounds like Lego (...) (19 years ago, 30-Aug-05, to lugnet.general)

Collecting Rare Lego in a Binder....

I'm starting this thread in lugnet.general because it is sort of an off Lego topic.... I have many old Lego parts from the 1949-70 era. I was thinking about getting a 3 ring binder and somehow putting together a collection of the various old and (...) (19 years ago, 1-Sep-05, to lugnet.general)

That black window is one of the few Brick Factory parts that I don't mind paying a premium on. Of course, (...) (19 years ago, 1-Sep-05, to lugnet.general, FTX)

Now add into that all the white bricks for making it a decent looking model.... it starts adding up! I can say this much, before I (...) (19 years ago, 1-Sep-05, to lugnet.general, FTX)

  Pat Pend Parts (3P)

Hi, I was sorting some old bricks and plates and was amazed to find so much Pat Pend Parts (3P). I've found mainly 2x4 and 2x3 bricks because they are easy to distinguish (they don't have ribs). I've found also some 2x2 and 2x8 bricks and (...) (20 years ago, 15-Mar-05, to lugnet.parts)

(...) I agree that the SNOT technique is great for the 1x1x1 headlight bricks. I just detest them because TLG uses them as a poor substitute for the old 1x1x1 classic windows in the remake of the USS Constellation Ship model. And again in the Lego (...) This set was first produced in 1975 in USA (1974 elsewhere). I found them on clearance at a "J. (...) (19 years ago, 9-Sep-05, to lugnet.general, lugnet.fun, FTX)

1972 European Basic Set That May Not Exist?
